Radiofrequency Coblation Inferior Turbinoplasty with Modified UPPP for the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome.

To compare the efficacy of surgical treatment in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) involving a standalone modified uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (mUPPP) and radiofrequency coblation inferior turbinoplasty with mUPPP. In this study, a retrospective analysis of 79 OSAHS patients with inferior turbinate hypertrophy and oropharyngeal obstruction undergoing surgical treatment was performed. According to the different surgical methods, the patients were divided into 2 groups (Group A and Group B).

Minimizing Voltage Deficit in Perovskite Indoor Photovoltaics by Interfacial Engineering.

Metal halide perovskites with bandgap of ≈1.8 eV are competitive candidates for indoor photovoltaic (IPV) devices, owing to their superior photovoltaic properties and ideal absorption spectra matched to most indoor light sources. However, these perovskite IPVs suffer from severe trap induced non-radiative recombination, resulting in large open-circuit voltage (V) losses, particularly under low light intensity.

An evaluation of the use of double-curved endoscopes for gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors.

Background: Endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) is a standard treatment method for gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (gGISTs). Evidence of the safety and efficacy of a double-curved endoscope (DCE) in EFTR of gGISTs is limited. We aimed to compare the operative outcomes of DCE versus single-curved endoscopes (SCE) in EFTR of gGISTs.

High Iodine Nutrition May Be a Risk Factor for Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis in Papillary Thyroid Cancer Patients.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to retrospectively identify the effect of iodine on the papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) process and investigate the risk clinicopathologic characteristics of cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) for achieving a better preventive strategy of PTC.

Methods: Totally 187 patients with CLNM and 279 without CLNM (NCLNM) were enrolled, and their urinary iodine concentration (UIC) and serum iodine concentration (SIC) were measured. Logistic regressions were used to reveal the effects of iodine nutrition on the CLNM status of PTC.

Identifying potential metabolic tissue biomarkers for papillary thyroid cancer in different iodine nutrient regions.

Purpose: To investigate the applicability of metabolomics to select thyroid cancer-associated biomarkers and discover the effects of iodine on metabolic changes in thyroid cancer.

Methods: In this study, a total of 33 papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) patients from areas with iodine excess and 32 PTC patients from areas with adequate iodine were recruited, and their cancerous tissue and paracancerous tissue were collected. These specimens were analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/QTOF/MS) in conjunction with multivariate statistical analysis.

High Iodine Induces the Proliferation of Papillary and Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Cells AKT/Wee1/CDK1 Axis.

High iodine can alter the proliferative activity of thyroid cancer cells, but the underlying mechanism has not been fully elucidated. Here, the role of high iodine in the proliferation of thyroid cancer cells was studied. In this study, we demonstrated that high iodine induced the proliferation of BCPAP and 8305C cells accelerating cell cycle progression.

Outcomes of Endonasal Septoplasty and Extracorporeal Septal Reconstruction in Anterocaudal Septal Deviation.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the functional and aesthetic outcomes of endonasal septoplasty (ES) and extracorporeal septal reconstruction (ESR) in anterocaudal septal deviation.

Methods: In this study, patients (n = 46) who underwent nasal septoplasty surgery due to anterocaudal septal deviation during February 2015 to August 2017 were analyzed; 23 patients underwent ES and the others (n = 23) underwent ESR. The decision of whether to use the ES or ESR was randomized by random number table method.

[Effect of Yiqi Huoxue Qingre Huashi Recipe on the Eradication Rate of Hp in Peptic Ulcer Patients].

Objective: To observe the effect of Yiqi Huoxue Qingre Huashi Recipe (YHQHR, a recipe capable of supplementing qi, activating blood, clearing heat, and dissipating dampness) on ulcer healing and Helicobacter pylori (Hp) eradication rate in Hp positive peptic ulcer patients, and to explore coccoid Hp occurrence in the eradication.

Methods: Totally 80 Hp positive peptic ulcer patients were assigned to the treatment group and the control groups by random digit table, 40 in each group. All patients received standard triple therapy of Western medicine for 2 successive weeks.
