The rice zinc finger protein ZFP36 serves as a pivotal regulator of the hydrogen peroxide (HO) signaling pathway in response to abscisic acid (ABA). Its role is crucial for integrating HO signals with the plant defense mechanisms against water deficit and oxidative stress. However, it remains unclear whether ZFP36 directly modulates ABA-induced HO signaling.

Objectives: Social isolation may affect diabetes self-management. This study aimed to explore the relations between social isolation and glycaemic control in patients with diabetes and to explore lifestyle differences among individuals with different levels of social isolation.

Methods: The relevant data of 665 people previously diagnosed with diabetes included in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study from 2011 to 2015 were extracted and analysed.

Bladder cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor in urinary system. Although chemotherapy is one of the most important adjuvant treatments for BC, drug resistance, non-specific toxicity and severe side effects are the major obstacles to BC chemotherapy. Natural products have always been a leading resource of antitumor drug discovery, with the advantages of excellent effectiveness, low toxicity, multi-targeting potency and easy availability.

To summarize the characteristics of laryngopharyngeal reflux in patients with chronic cough induced by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The clinical data of patients with chronic cough induced by GERD treated at our hospital were retrospectively analyzed, including their reflux symptom index (RSI), reflux finding scores (RFS), and results of oropharyngeal pH monitoring. There were 44 patients in total, including 21 males and 23 females.

Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the urinary system. Due to the poor prognosis and high mortality rate of the disease, it is urgent to develop new drugs with high efficacy and low toxicity to treat BC. Echinatin (Ecn) is a bioactive natural flavonoid oflicorice that has attracted special attention for its promising anti-tumor potential.

The abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is complex and usually leads to severe anemia. Melastomadodecandrum (MD) is clinically used for the treatment of metrorrhagia bleeding. The MD ellagitannins (MD-ETs) had been evidenced being effective at hemorrhage, and exerts biological activities upon their metabolites including ellagic acid and urolithins.

Background: Ellagitannins (ETs) are a major classification of natural tannins, with relatively large and complex structures. ETs from medicinal plants are focused increasingly due to urolithins, a kind of intestinal metabolite of ETs, which showed promising anti-Alzheimer's disease (AD) effects. Melastoma dodecandrum (MD), a widely used traditional Chinese medicine is rich in ETs, but their chemistry and potential neuroprotective effects have not been investigated.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a highly aggressive malignant bone tumor that mainly occurs in adolescents. At present, chemotherapy is the most commonly used method in clinical practice to treat OS. However, due to drug resistance, toxicity and long-term side effects, chemotherapy can't always provide sufficient benefits for OS patients, especially those with metastasis and recurrence.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a primary malignant tumor of bone. Chemotherapy is one of the crucial approaches to prevent its metastasis and improve prognosis. Despite continuous improvements in the clinical treatment of OS, tumor resistance and metastasis remain dominant clinical challenges.

Bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9), also named as growth differentiation factor 2 (GDF-2), is the strongest cytokine that promotes osteogenic differentiation in the BMP family, and has broad clinical application value. Nevertheless, the mechanism of BMP9 promotes osteogenic differentiation remain unclear. TAZ, a transcriptional co-activator, has great effects on cell proliferation, differentiation, and stem cell self-renewal.

Objective: To explore the relationship between social isolation and health behaviors and ulcer severity in patients with diabetic foot.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 160 patients suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with diabetic foot. The patients received treatment at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University between September 2020 and December 2021.

Tunable devices constructed by ferroelectric thin films are often desired to possess a low dielectric loss while maintainging a high dielectric tunability over a broad operating temperature range in applications, for example, resonators, filters, or phase shifters. However, it is difficult to simultaneously achieve these characteristics by traditional strategies, such as doping and strain modifying. Here, we demonstrate that the dielectric tunability of the sol-gel-prepared Pb(ScNb)(MgNb)O (PSNMN) thin film can be almost doubled from ~47% to ~80.

Background: WD repeat domain 5 (WDR5) has been indicated to be involved in tumor progression, however, its role in cervical cancer (CC) has not been investigated yet.

Methods: A total of 350 pairs of CC tissues and para-carcinoma tissues (PCT) were collected. Primary human cervical epithelial cells (hCECs) and cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) were isolated from cervical cancer tissues.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is an aggressive malignant skeletal tumor characterized by an extremely poor prognosis and a high tendency to recur. The frequently used anti-OS chemotherapy regents are often limited by drug resistance and severe adverse events. It is urgent to develop more effective, tolerable and safe drugs for the treatment of OS.

The up‑frameshift suppressor 1 homolog (UPF1) RNA surveillance gene is a core element in the nonsense‑mediated RNA decay (NMD) pathway, which impacts a broad spectrum of biological processes in a cell‑specific manner. In the present study, the contribution of the NMD pathway to psoriasis lesions and its moderating effects on the biological processes of keratinocytes was reported. Sanger sequencing for skin scales from two patients with psoriasis identified two mRNA mutations (c.

Dysregulation of the discoidin domain receptors (DDRs) has been implicated in the development of numerous types of tumors, including head and neck cancer, and nasopharyngeal, breast, ovarian and esophageal carcinomas. Furthermore, agents that inhibit DDR1 activity are hypothesized to be useful for the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of the DDR1 inhibitory (3-(2-(pyrazolo(1,5-a)pyrimidin-6-yl)-ethynyl)benzamide compound, 7RH, in NPC cells both and , and its effect when used in combination with dasatinib, a SRC family kinase (SFK) inhibitor.
