Alarmins are a class of molecules released when affected cells damaged or undergo apoptosis. They contain various chemotactic and immunomodulatory proteins or peptides. These molecules regulate the immune response by interacting with pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) and play important roles in inflammatory response, tissue repair, infection defense, and cancer treatment.

The active cycle of breathing techniques based on the Hope Theory is a method to enhance patients' confidence in overcoming the disease and improve the intrinsic motivation of exercise through symptom improvement such as cough and sputum evacuation ability.
Objectives: To investigate the effect of Hope Theory education combined with the active cycle of breathing techniques on pulmonary rehabilitation of COPD patients, including exercise adherence, cough and sputum evacuation ability, hope index and exercise self-efficacy.
Objective: A longitudinal study was conducted to investigate whether rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder affect depression in patients with Parkinson's disease through activities of daily living.
Methods: A total of 387 Parkinson's disease patients' six-year follow-up data (one follow-up per year) were obtained from the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative. To allow causal effects to manifest, this study increased the lag period and divided the data from the six follow-ups into two groups: wave 1 (wave refers to time points), wave 3, and wave 5 as one group, and wave 2, wave 4, and wave6 as the other group.
Objective: This study utilized a binary logistic regression model to explore the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and cognitive function in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data were obtained from 1,005 Parkinson's patients enrolled in the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) from 2010 to 2023, including 378 females and 627 males. Cognitive function was assessed using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scale, and the correlation between BMI and cognitive function was determined using binary logistic regression.
Background: Increasing evidence had proved that some circular RNA (circRNA) exerted critical roles in tumors progression by functioning as "microRNAs (miRNAs) sponges" to regulate their targeted genes.
Methods: circFAM114A2 and miR-647 expression was measured in CRC tissues and cells by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), and the prognostic value of circFAM114A2 evaluated by Kaplan-Meier survival curve. Subsequently, wounding healing and transwell assays were performed to assess cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.
Objective: This study aims to utilize latent growth model (LGM) to explore the developmental trajectory of motor dysfunction in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients and investigate the relationship between depression and motor dysfunction.
Methods: Four-year follow-up data from 389 PD patients were collected through the Parkinson's Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI). Firstly, a univariate LGM was employed to examine the developmental trajectory of motor dysfunction in PD patients.
Aim: Examine the levels of variables and explore drivers associated with shared decision-making attitudes among newly graduated nurses.
Design: This was a descriptive and cross-sectional study.
Methods: From August 2022 to October 2022, a cross-section of 216 newly graduated nurses from four comprehensive A-level hospitals in northern China was recruited using convenience sampling.
In this clinical study, we investigated the potential of melatonin (MT) supplementation in the freeze-thaw medium used for cryopreserved human oocytes. In total, 152 patients who underwent in vitro fertilization between January 2020 and December 2022 were included and categorized into different groups as follows: the donor group, comprising 108 patients who donated their oocytes, with 34 patients using a vitrification and warming medium supplemented with MT (D-MT subgroup) and 74 patients using conventional medium without MT (D-0 subgroup); and the autologous group, comprising 38 patients who used their own oocytes, with 19 patients using medium supplemented with MT (A-MT subgroup) and 19 patients using medium without MT (A-0 subgroup). After thawing, the surviving oocytes in the D-MT and A-MT subgroups and D-0 and A-0 subgroups were cultured in a fertilization media with and without 10 MMT for 2.

Nevertheless, the identification of the key aroma compounds with the difference fragrance types of FHDC remains uncertain. In order to characteristic the volatile components in different fragrance types of FHDC, 10 well-known fragrance types of FHDC and Tieguanyin (TGY) as a control were analyzed by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

All patients underwent 2DE, contrast-enhanced 2DE (Contrast-2DE), 3DE, Contrast-3DE, and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) examinations. The 2DE-AL and 3DE methods measured the left ventricular mass (LVM).

Background: Color Doppler echocardiography is the most commonly used non-invasive imaging tool for detection of ASDs. While prior studies have used DL to detect the presence of ASDs from standard 2D echocardiographic views, no study has yet reported automatic interpretation of color Doppler videos for detection and quantification of ASD.
Guangdong black teas have diverse flavors and aromas. To explore the molecular basis of these aromas, we extracted and analyzed the volatile flavor compounds of 31 black tea samples from 7 districts (Yingde, Luokeng, Renhua, Meizhou, Chaozhou, Lianshan, and Heyuan) in Guangdong Province with headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Then, 135 volatile flavor compounds (VFCs) were identified and grouped into 12 classes according to their chemical structure.

In this study, MT was firstly applied to human oocytes' cryopreservation to explore the effect of prolonged cryopreservation on developmental competence and its role. Collected in vitro-matured human oocytes were cryopreserved in MT-containing or MT-free medium for 0 and 6 months; after warming, viable oocytes were assessed for developmental viability, intracellular protein expression, mitochondrial function, and oxidation-antioxidant system.
