Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has emerged as a promising neuroimaging tool for detecting blast-induced mild traumatic brain injury (bmTBI). However, lack of refined acute-phase monitoring and reliable imaging biomarkers hindered its clinical application in early diagnosis of bmTBI, leading to potential long-term disability of patients. In this study, we used DTI in a rat model of bmTBI generated by exposing to single lateral blast waves (151.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is a manifestation of inflammation concentrated in the lungs and has a high incidence rate and mortality The purpose of this study is to explain the mechanism of IRN in the treatment of acute lung injury and to provide a new scheme for clinical treatment. The experimental mice were divided into three groups: CTRL, LPS, LPS+IRN.

Sleep staging is imperative for evaluating sleep quality and diagnosing sleep disorders. Extant sleep staging methods with fusing multiple data-views of physiological signals have achieved promising results. However, they remain neglectful of the relationship among different data-views at different feature scales with view position-alignment.

Arsenic trioxide (ATO) has gained significant attention due to its promising therapeutic effects in treating different diseases, particularly acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Its potent anticancer mechanisms have been extensively studied. Despite the great efficacy ATO shows in fighting cancers, drawbacks in the clinical use are obvious, especially for solid tumors, which include rapid renal clearance and short half-life, severe adverse effects, and high toxicity to normal cells.

The usefulness of measuring high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and remnant cholesterol (RC) in assessing the level of residual inflammation risk (RIR) and residual cholesterol risk (RCR) for risk stratification in these patients needs to be evaluated.
Methods: Patients admitted for ACS on statin treatment who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) between March 2016 and March 2019 were enrolled in the analysis.
Rationale: Ileal perforation caused by the insertion of a drainage tube is a rare complication. Hence, the utilization of surgical drains in abdominal surgery remains controversial. At present, there is a trend to reduce the utilization of drains in abdominal surgery, although certain situations may necessitate their application.

Purpose: To evaluate outcomes of slow coagulation transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (SC-TSCPC) in a primarily African American patient population with glaucoma.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed for 104 consecutive cases of SC-TSCPC by a single surgeon between November 6, 2019-September 7, 2023. Power ranged from 1150 to 1500 mW, duration was 4 s, and number of spots ranged from 10 to 25.
Background: The beneficial effects of first-line programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitors plus chemotherapy in patients with low programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1)-expressing advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) adenocarcinoma are controversial.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with G/GEJ adenocarcinoma who had undergone first-line treatment with PD-1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy between October 2017 and May 2022. The primary outcomes were objective response rate (ORR) and progression-free survival (PFS).
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is known for its strong invasiveness, high recurrence rates, and poor prognosis. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is closely related to tumor invasion, metastasis, recurrence and formation of tumor immunosuppression. The expression of HO-1 is high in TNBC and low in normal tissues.

Methods And Results: A total of 806 patients who were receiving stable and optimized lipid-lowering therapy but did not achieve their low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 2:1:2:1 ratio to receive either ongericimab 150 mg or matching placebo every 2 weeks, or ongericimab 300 mg or matching placebo every 4 weeks for 52 weeks. Efficacy and safety were evaluated in 802 patients who received at least 1 dose of ongericimab or placebo.
Backgrounds: Liver resection plus lymphadenectomy is essential to ensure precise staging in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). This study aimed to investigate the influence of the clinical status of lymph nodes on the survival outcomes in ICC patients.
Methods: Between January 2015 and December 2020, consecutive patients diagnosed with ICC who underwent liver resection plus lymphadenectomy were enrolled.
Background: Exploration of the relationship between nursing students' abusive supervision and their future intention to leave the nursing profession before completing the final clinical practicum is critical to the issue of nursing staff shortages and how to alleviate them. In order to further dissect the factors influencing turnover intention among student nurses in clinical practice, our study used the conservation of resources theory and job demands-resources model to explain the specific pathways that influence student nurses' intention to leave the nursing profession, with particular focus on nursing students' personality traits and certain organizational factors.
Method: This study followed a cross-sectional design.
κ-Carrageenan (κ-Car) is an important material for preparing food gels and hydrogels. However, κ-Car gel has issues with high hardness and low water-holding capacity. Modification strategy of micronization is proposed for the first time to explore its influence on texture properties and gelling process of κ-Car gel, and to investigate the feasibility of κ-Car as a food matrix with low strength.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive, and high mortality lung disease. Although the antifibrotic drugs pirfenidone and nintedanib could slow the rate of lung function decline, the usual course of the condition is inexorably to respiratory failure and death. Therefore, new approaches and novel therapeutic drugs for the treatment of IPF are urgently needed.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors are approved for the treatment of various tumors, but the response rate is not satisfactory in certain malignancies. Inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAP) ubiquitin-E3 ligase activity is involved in the regulation of immune responses. APG-1387 is a novel second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase (Smac) mimetic IAP inhibitor.

This study was conducted to summarize clinical data on epidemiology, risk factors, causative pathogens, and clinical outcomes of IFI-associated EOD among neonates in a center in China for the sake of providing references for prevention and treatment of fungal infections in neonates in future.
Methods: The clinical data of IFI neonates who received treatment in a tertiary NICU of China from January 2009 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, including causative pathogens and the incidence of EOD.
Purpose: To establish a pathomic model using histopathological image features for predicting indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) status and its relationship with overall survival (OS) in breast cancer.
Methods: A pathomic model was constructed using machine learning and histopathological images obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas database to predict IDO1 expression. The model performance was evaluated based on the area under the curve, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA).
