Acute generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a severe and rare form of psoriasis marked by widespread redness and pustules, potentially arising from untreated local pustular psoriasis like acrodermatitis continua of Hallopeau (ACH).
Both GPP and ACH are challenging to treat and often resistant to standard psoriasis treatments, although recent biologic therapies show promise.
A specific case demonstrated that a patient with GPP, who initially responded well to the biologic adalimumab, later developed resistance to it and was successfully treated with narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) therapy and acitretin.
