Objective: To establish a specific and sensitive Enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit for detection of HIV-1 antibody in urine using Escherichia coli expression products as coating antigen.

Methods: The truncated HIV-1 gp41 gene fragment of major antigenic epitopes was inserted into the plasmid pET22b to obtain expression plasmid pET22b-mgp41. The recombinant antigen was expressed in BL21 (DE3) strains of Escherichia coli and was purified by immobilized metal chelation and gel filtration chromatography.

Objective: To develop a solid phase adsorption gas sampler, which was suitable for collection and analysis of ammonia in indoor air.

Methods: This solid phase adsorption gas sampler was composed of two parts, a support part made of a glass tube, an absorbent part in glass tube made of fiber coated ammonia absorbent. For its performance, established a method for sampling ammonia in indoor air with the gas sampler was evaluated.

Objective: We developed a solid phase adsorption gas sampler, which is suitable for collection and analysis of indoor air formaldehyde.

Methods: This solid phase adsorption gas sampler is composed of two parts, a support part made of a glass tube covered silica-gel stopper on ports, an absorbent part in glass tube made of surface denatured synthetic fibre coated formaldehyde absorbent. We evolved its performance, and established an method for sampling and determination formaldehyde in indoor air with the gas sampler.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the blood lead level of 3 - 5 year old children living in the cities in China and to provide scientific data for making policy on environmental lead pollution for children health protection.

Methods: Six thousand five hundred and two vein blood samples from 3 - 5 year old children in nineteen cities of nine provinces were sampled. Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) were employed to determine lead level in whole blood after microwave digestion for sample preparation and questionnaire survey was also performed.
