Objective: Previous observational studies on the association between aspirin use, bone mineral density (BMD), and fracture risk have yielded controversial results. This study explored the causal relationship between aspirin use, BMD, and fracture risk using Mendelian randomization (MR).

Methods: Summary data for aspirin use and BMD of five different body parts (femoral neck, lumbar spine, forearm, heel, and ultra distal forearm) and fractures were obtained from the integrative epidemiology unit open genome-wide association studies database for bidirectional MR analysis.

Background: Increasing evidence indicates a close relationship between alterations in human immune cells and plasma metabolites with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). However, limited studies have left the causal relationships behind these links unclear.

Methods: A bidirectional Mendelian Randomization (MR) study was conducted, combined with mediation analysis, using data from genome-wide association study database covering 731 immune cell phenotypes and 1,400 plasma metabolite traits to explore their causal relationships with RA and potential mediating effects.

Topology control is one of the most essential technologies in wireless sensor networks (WSNs); it constructs networks with certain characteristics through the usage of some approaches, such as power control and channel assignment, thereby reducing the inter-nodes interference and the energy consumption of the network. It is closely related to the efficiency of upper layer protocols, especially MAC and routing protocols, which are the same as underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs). Directional antenna technology (directional transducer in UASNs) has great advantages in minimizing interference and conserving energy by restraining the beamforming range.

Fucan sulfates from echinoderm possess characteristic structures and various biological activities. Herein, comprehensive methods including enzymolysis, ion-exchange chromatography and size exclusion chromatography lead to the purification of five fucan sulfates (FSI, FSII, FSIII, FSIV, FSV) from the sea cucumber Pattalus mollis. Chemical composition analysis showed that they were all composed of l-fucose.

In order to highlight nutrients of potential concern on deficiency for the age groups under study, the dietary status of preschool children were studied in the kindergartens of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Changsha and Dalian in 1998-1999. All the children who regularly attended the kindergarten, who were in the age range of 3-6 year old and generally health were considered eligible for enrollment in this study. The final results included a total of 1170 children, with 583 boys and 587 girls.
