Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced (CE) ultrasound using Sonazoid (SNZ-CEUS) by comparing with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT) and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (CE-MRI) for differentiating benign and malignant renal masses.

Materials And Methods: 306 consecutive patients (from 7 centers) with renal masses (40 benign tumors, 266 malignant tumors) diagnosed by both SNZ-CEUS, CE-CT or CE-MRI were enrolled between September 2020 and February 2021. The examinations were performed within 7 days, but the sequence was not fixed.

Objective: To investigate whether the feeding artery (FA) feature can aid in discriminating small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) from precancerous lesions.

Methods: Between June 2017 and May 2021, a total of 347 patients with 351 precancerous liver lesions or small HCCs who underwent CEUS were enrolled. Two independent radiologists assigned LI-RADS categories to all lesions and assessed the presence of the FA feature, which was used as an ancillary feature to either upgrade or downgrade the LI-RADS category.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to create and test a deep learning model to predict early recurrence of colorectal cancer liver metastasis after thermal ablation, using contrast-enhanced ultrasound images from 207 patients.
  • The research involved analyzing data from different patient cohorts, and the deep learning model performed better than traditional clinical models in predicting recurrence, with a significant improvement shown when combining deep learning with clinical factors.
  • Results indicated that the combined model could effectively assist doctors in making more informed treatment decisions post-ablation, highlighting the potential of advanced imaging techniques in oncology.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Clinical trials have demonstrated that Trametes robinophila Murr (Huaier granule) can inhibit recurrence and metastasis after hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) resection, but its efficacy as an adjuvant therapy after thermal ablation of early HCC is unknown.

Aim Of The Study: To analyze the prognostic value and side effects of Huaier granules in HCC patients undergoing thermal ablation.

Materials And Methods: Clinical information from 340 eligible subjects with early-stage HCC who were admitted to our department from September 1, 2008 to January 1, 2019 was extracted from the electronic medical record database.

Purpose: To compare the therapeutic outcomes between open surgical resection (OSR) and percutaneous microwave ablation (PMWA) for colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) ≤3 cm.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 200 consecutive patients with 306 CRLMs were reviewed. Overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), local tumour progression (LTP), intrahepatic distant recurrence, and extrahepatic metastasis were analysed to compare the therapeutic efficacy.
