Increasing evidences indicate that the gut microbiota is involved in the development and therapy of gastrointestinal and hepatic disease. Imbalance of gut microbiota occurs in the early stages of diseases, and maintaining the balance of the gut microbiota provides a new strategy for the treatment of diseases. It has been reported that is associated with multiple diseases.

Background: Cervical cancer is the most prevalent malignant tumor in women. This study aims to detect collagen type V α1 chain (COL5A1) expression and its clinical relevance in the prognosis of patients with cervical cancer.
Methods: Cervical cancer tissues and their paired adjacent normal tissues were prepared for tissue microarray.
Background: Cervical cancer is a human papillomavirus (HPV)-related disease. HPV type 16 (HPV16), which is the predominant cause of cervical cancer, can encode miRNAs (HPV16-miRNAs). However, the role of HPV16-miRNAs in the pathogenesis of cervical cancer remains unclear.

Modern medical devices should be thoroughly sterilised before use to avoid cross-infection and disease transmission, consequently it is essential to evaluate whether AMPs withstand the sterilisation process or not. In this study, the effect of radiation sterilisation on the structure and properties of AMPs was explored.

In this study, a simple, novel, and valid green method was developed to synthesize essential oil-silver nanoparticles (Lceo-AgNPs) using Lceo as a reducing and capping agent. The maximum UV absorbance of Lceo-AgNPs appeared at 423 nm and the size was 5-15 nm through transmission electron microscopy result.

Background: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in the pathogenesis of endometriosis and can be regulated by estrogen. This study aimed to investigate the role of estrogen in regulating the expression and function of lncRNA-H19 in endometriosis.
Methods: Endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) were isolated from ectopic, eutopic endometrium with endometriosis and control endometrium without endometriosis, and lncRNA-H19 expression was detected using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
Sulfonamides are the second most popular antibiotic in many countries, which leads to the widespread emergence of sulfonamides resistance. is a more recent version of the gene associated with sulfonamide resistance, whose research is relatively little. In order to comprehend the prevalence of positive from animals in Nanning, a total of 146 strains of were identified from some farms and pet hospitals from 2015 to 2017.

Colorectal cancer poses a serious threat worldwide. Although early screening has been proved to be the most effective way to prevent and control colorectal cancer, the current situation of colorectal cancer screening remains not optimistic. The aim of this article is to apply the protection motivation theory (PMT) to examine the influencing factors on screening intention of colorectal cancer (CRC).

This study was designed to investigate the cecal microbiota in chickens and to elucidate the immune mechanism involved in the CSP effect on CY induced-immunosuppressed chickens. A total of 288 cocks were equally divided into six groups and used to evaluate the immune effect of CSP.

Protection motivation theory (PMT) suggested by Rogers is one of the theories concerning threat appeal. This study aimed to apply the protection motivation theory (PMT) in predicting breast cancer screening intention.

However, the potential molecular mechanism through which GQD could protect intestinal barrier from ulcerative colitis (UC) still remains undefined. As an important part of the homeostasis of the colon, gut microbiota is closely related to the dynamic evolution of the surrounding environment and the adjustment of dietary structure.

This study aimed to evaluate the risk perception of COVID-19 among college students in China during the quarantine, explore its related factors, and provide reference for future study.
Methods: This study invited college students from various provinces of China to participate in the survey through the Internet, and a total of 1,461 college students were included.

This study demonstrates that a variant of a Siamese neural network architecture is more effective at classifying high-dimensional radiomic features (extracted from T2 MRI images) than traditional models, such as a Support Vector Machine or Discriminant Analysis. Ninety-nine female patients, between the ages of 20 and 48, were imaged with T2 MRI. Using biopsy pathology, the patients were separated into two groups: those with breast cancer (N=55) and those with GLM (N=44).

We developed a reliable and repeatable process to create hyper-realistic, kidney phantoms with tunable image visibility under ultrasound (US) and CT imaging modalities. A methodology was defined to create phantoms that could be produced for renal biopsy evaluation. The final complex kidney phantom was devised containing critical structures of a kidney: kidney cortex, medulla, and ureter.

Often, these are not the same modalities forcing the physician to perform a mental cross-modality fusion of the preoperative and intraoperative scans. This limits the accuracy and reproducibility of the biopsy procedure.

Herein we report a facile manufacture of a highly flexible, sensitive, and multifunctional dual-mode sensor with an ultrasimple structure by directly attaching magnetic iron rubber (IR) onto the surface of carbon aerogel (CA) derived from melamine foam. The dual-mode CA/IR sensor exhibits high sensitivities of 5.

Methods: A large sample of women (n = 2408, aged 35-65 years old) was randomly selected from a rural county in China in 2015 and followed up for 2 years. Data for demographic factors, knowledge of cervical cancer screening, screening outcome, and six PMT constructs measured at the baseline in 2015 were used to predict cervical cancer screening participation at the follow-up in 2017 using structural equation model method.
Segmentation of the prostate in magnetic resonance (MR) images has many applications in image-guided treatment planning and procedures such as biopsy and focal therapy. However, manual delineation of the prostate boundary is a time-consuming task with high inter-observer variation. In this study, we proposed a semiautomated, three-dimensional (3D) prostate segmentation technique for T2-weighted MR images based on shape and texture analysis.

Breast cancer in young women is commonly aggressive, in part because the proportion of high-grade, triple-negative (TN) tumor is too high. There are certain limitations in the detection of biopsies or surgical specimens which only select part of tumor sample tissue and ignore the possible heterogeneity of tumors. In clinical practice, MRI is used for the diagnosis of breast cancer.

SUVs/sodium hyaluranate (HA-Na)/water and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)/ethanol solutions were used as core and sheath fluid in electrospinning, respectively. The ultrathin fibers were characterized by scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM).
