Objectives: Although frailty can increase the risk of premature death, whether reversal of frailty reduces the risk of premature death and what factors contribute to the reversal of frailty have not been thoroughly investigated. This study aimed to investigate the link between frailty reversal and all-cause mortality and the factors affecting frailty reversal.
Design: A combination of the nested case-control study and the prospective cohort study.

Objectives: To explore the efficacy of glucosamine sulfate (GS) combined with loxoprofen sodium (LS) in rats with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and its effect on chondrocytes.
Methods: We randomly assigned 40 SPF SD rats to normal group (NG), control group (CG), treatment group (TG), and model group (MG). CG and TG were processed with continuous irrigation of LS and GS.
Circularly polarized photons are known to generate a directional helicity-dependent photocurrent in three-dimensional topological insulators at room temperature. Surprisingly, the phenomenon is readily observed at photon energies that excite electrons to states far above the spin-momentum locked Dirac cone and the underlying mechanism for the helicity-dependent photocurrent is still not understood. Here we show a comprehensive study of the helicity-dependent photocurrent in (Bi Sb )Te thin films as a function of the incidence angle of the optical excitation, its wavelength and the gate-tuned chemical potential.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe quantum anomalous Hall effect has recently been observed experimentally in thin films of Cr-doped (Bi,Sb)(2)Te(3) at a low temperature (∼ 30 mK). In this work, we propose realizing the quantum anomalous Hall effect in more conventional diluted magnetic semiconductors with magnetically doped InAs/GaSb type-II quantum wells. Based on a four-band model, we find an enhancement of the Curie temperature of ferromagnetism due to band edge singularities in the inverted regime of InAs/GaSb quantum wells.

These include states such as clusters of clusters, concentric rings, clusters inside a ring, and stripes in a cluster. We propose to realize such systems in vortex matter (where a vortex is mapped onto a particle with multi-scale interactions) in layered superconducting systems with varying inter-layer thicknesses and different layer materials.
