Purpose: To examine the burden of blindness caused by refraction disorders (BCRD) in China over the past 30 years by year, age, and sex, and to estimate future projections.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Diseases (GBD) 2019 database were used to analyze the number of cases and age-standardized prevalence rates (ASPRs) of BCRD in China from 1990 to 2019. We focused on changes over time using estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs).
Zeolites with band-like charge transport properties have exhibited their potential activities in sensing, optics, and electronics. Herein, a precisely designed Cu@ZSM-5 catalyst is presented with an ultra-wide bandgap of 4.27 eV, showing excellent photocatalytic activity in hydroxylation of benzene with benzene conversion 27.

To explore the effects of the tight junction protein zonula occludens 1 (ZO-1) on experimental corneal neovascularization (CNV). CNV models were established in the left eyes of BALB/c mice using NaOH. Anti-ZO-1 neutralizing antibody was topically applied to the burnt corneas after modeling thrice a day for 1 week.

Methods: The role of TMAO on the biological effect of human retinal microvascular endothelial cells (HRMEC) under high glucose conditions was tested by a cell counting kit, wound healing, a transwell and a tube formation assay. The inflammation-related gene expression affected by TMAO was tested by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
Norditerpenes are considered to be a common and widely studied class of bioactive compounds in plants, exhibiting a wide array of complex and diverse structural types and originating from various sources. Based on the number of carbons, norditerpenes can be categorized into C19, C18, C17, and C16 compounds. Up to now, 557 norditerpenes and their derivatives have been found in studies published between 2010 and 2023, distributed in 51 families and 132 species, with the largest number in Lamiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, and Cephalotaxaceae.

The precise design of a model catalyst with a clear atomic structure is crucial in studying the relationship between structure and catalytic activity. In this work, a one-pot strategy was used to synthesize CuZn@ZSM-5 catalysts with approximately two Cu atoms and one Zn atom per unit cell.

Methods: We analysed the years lived with disability (YLDs), number of cases, age-standardised YLD rates (ASYRs) and age-standardised prevalence rates (ASPRs) of BVL in China from 1990 to 2019. We focused on changes over time using estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs).
Two new A-ring contracted triterpenoids, madengaisu A and madengaisu B, and one undescribed -kaurane diterpenoid, madengaisu C, along with 20 known compounds were isolated from the roots of Bornm. The structures were elucidated using extensive spectroscopic techniques, including 1D and 2D-NMR, HR-ESI-MS, ECD spectra, IR, and UV analysis. Moreover, all isolated constituents were evaluated for their anti-proliferative activity against RA-FLS cells and cytotoxic activities against the human cancer cell lines Hep-G2, HCT-116, BGC-823, and MCF-7.
