Rapid urbanization has led to a significant increase in water consumption and wastewater discharge. Balancing the relationship between urbanization development and water pollutants emissions is crucial for the sustainable development of the country. Given the uneven regional economic development and resource distribution in China, exploring the relationship between new urbanization and water pollution emissions cannot be limited to a single perspective such as population urbanization.

Unlike most brownfields located in the urban center, there is a kind of special brownfields produced in the Third Front Construction (TFC) period of China, and in turn they are named the Third Front Brownfield (TFB) in this paper. In addition to commercial value, other values should also be considered when TFBs are redeveloped, which makes they may need a specific protective reuse way and their revitalization process is relatively slower. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the redevelopment mode of TFBs.

The utilization of prefabricated components is taken as a potential way to reduce carbon emissions from the construction industry, and the prefabrication rate may be a factor that influences the mitigation efficiency. This study develops an assessment method to compare carbon emissions of a building in the construction stage when it is built with multiple different prefabrication rates. Firstly, two carbon sources (building materials and machineries) and three construction sub-phases (production of materials and components, transportation, and on-site construction) are determined to clarify the calculation boundary.

The method of immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOD) on electrodes is especially important for the fabrication and performance of glucose biosensors. In this study, a carbohydrate binding module family 2 (CBM2) was successfully fused to the C terminal of GOD with a natural linker (NL) in endo-β-xylanase by genetic recombination, and a fusion GOD (GOD-NL-CBM2) was obtained. The CBM2 was used as an affinity adsorption tag for immobilization of the GOD-NL-CBM2 on a cellulose modified electrode.

The discovery or engineering of fungus-derived FAD-dependent glucose 1-dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH) is especially important in the fabrication and performance of glucose biosensors. In this study, a novel FAD-GDH gene, phylogenetically distantly with other FAD-GDHs from species, was identified. Additionally, the wild-type GDH enzyme, and its fusion enzyme (GDH-NL-CBM2) with a carbohydrate binding module family 2 (CBM2) tag attached by a natural linker (NL), were successfully heterogeneously expressed.

Brownfields have attracted increasing attentions from both researchers and practitioners. However, few studies have attempted to make a comprehensive and quantitative review on this topic. This study conducted a scientometric review on the brownfield research from 1995 to 2017 using CiteSpace.

Based on the Graph Model of Conflict Resolution (GMCR), a two-stage decision framework is developed to reveal the essence of brownfield incidents and facilitate the resolution of brownfield conflicts caused by the incidents. More particularly, the forward GMCR is utilized in Stage I, the negotiation stage, to simulate the evolution of a Brownfield Conflict (BC) and predict its potential resolution via stability analysis. If no acceptable equilibrium can be obtained, the BC progresses into Stage II, the third-party-intervention stage, where the inverse GMCR is used to assist a third party in intervening the conflict to achieve a desirable outcome.
