Article Synopsis
  • Alzheimer's disease (AD) leads to a decline in cognitive function, making it essential to understand its molecular workings for therapy development.* -
  • The study analyzed immune cell types and gene expression in AD using single-cell RNA sequencing, identifying key immune cell types associated with the disease and specific molecular pathways.* -
  • Findings suggest that immune cells could be targeted for AD treatment, and genes like UFC1 may serve as biomarkers to track disease progression.*

The investigation of the influence of hydrothermal synthesis conditions such as synthetic temperature, the amount of solvent, addition of additives including sodium hydroxide, lithium chloride and 2-methylimidazole on the morphology and size of MIL-121 was carried out. The experimental results indicated the significant impact of hydrothermal synthesis conditions on the morphologies and sizes of MIL-121 crystals. The synthesis temperature has little effect on the morphology, which is mainly reflected in the change of the aspect ratio, but the effect on the size is significant under low-temperature conditions.

Acetaminophen (APAP) hepatotoxicity remains the leading cause of drug-induced liver injury due to the lack of safe and effective therapeutic agents. Berberine (BBR) is a natural alkaloid derived from traditional medicine Rhizoma Coptidis and possesses various pharmacological properties. The aim of this study was to explore the hepatoprotective effects and underlying mechanisms of BBR on APAP-induced hepatotoxicity.

Berberine has been reported to have protective effects in colitis treatment. However, the detailed mechanisms remain unclear. Herein, we demonstrated that berberine could protect against dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis in mice by regulating macrophage polarization.
