Diagnostic Performance of Transient Elastography Versus Two-Dimensional Shear Wave Elastography for Liver Fibrosis in Chronic Viral Hepatitis: Direct Comparison and a Meta-Analysis.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of transient elastography (TE) and two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) for staging liver fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis (CVH).

Methods: Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched (-01/08/2021) for studies comparing TE with 2D-SWE in patients with CVH. Other etiologies of chronic liver disease (CLD) and articles not published in SCI journals were excluded.

Intervention Effect of Lumbar Transforaminal Epidural Block on the Treatment for Low Back Pain with Radicular Pain.

Lumbar transforaminal epidural block (LTEB) is a minimally invasive interventional method, and the interventional effect of LTEB on the treatment of low back pain with radicular pain is not yet clear; therefore, a total of 100 patients with low back pain with radicular pain treated in our hospital from January 2021 to December 2021 were included in this study, and they were divided into two groups of 50 each using a digital double-blind method. The control group was treated conservatively, and the study group was treated with LTEB. Patients' pain was assessed using the numerical rating scale (NRS), and the degree of functional impairment was assessed using the Oswestry disability index (ODI).

Effects of Pulsed Radiofrequency on Nerve Repair and Expressions of GFAP and GDNF in Rats with Neuropathic Pain.

Objective: To study the effect of pulsed radio frequency (PRF) on nerve repair and the expression of GFAP and GDNF in rats with neuropathic pain.

Methods: Thirty SPF healthy SD rats were randomly divided into control group (Group C), PSNL group (partial ligation of sciatic nerve) + sham group (Group PS), and PSNL group (partial ligation of sciatic nerve) + PRF group (Group PR), with 10 rats in each group. In group C, the right sciatic nerve was exposed without ligation.

Retrospective analysis of LNM risk factors and the effect of chemotherapy in early colorectal cancer: A Chinese multicenter study.

Background: Estimating the risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) is crucial for determining subsequent treatments following curative resection of early colorectal cancer (ECC). This multicenter study analyzed the risk factors of LNM and the effectiveness of postoperative chemotherapy in patients with ECC.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 473 patients with ECC who underwent general surgery in five hospitals between January 2007 and October 2018.

TLR9 induces colitis-associated colorectal carcinogenesis by regulating NF-κB expression levels.

Chronic colorectal inflammation has been associated with colorectal cancer (CRC); however, its exact molecular mechanisms remain unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) on the development of colitis-associated CRC (CAC) through its regulation of the NF-κB signaling pathway. By using a CAC mouse model and immunohistochemistry, the present study discovered that the protein expression levels of TLR9 were gradually upregulated during the development of CRC.

Carvacrol, which is abundantly contained in oregano essential oils, has various pharmacological actions including antinociception. Although the oral administration of carvacrol results in antinociception, cellular mechanisms for this action have not been examined yet. We investigated the action of carvacrol on glutamatergic spontaneous excitatory transmission in substantia gelatinosa neurons which play a pivotal role in regulating nociceptive transmission from the periphery by using the patch-clamp technique in adult rat spinal cord slices.
