Background: Fungal infections are associated with high morbidity and mortality in the intensive care unit (ICU), but their diagnosis is difficult. In this study, machine learning was applied to design and define the predictive model of ICU-acquired fungi (ICU-AF) in the early stage of fungal infections using Random Forest.

Objectives: This study aimed to provide evidence for the early warning and management of fungal infections.

Background: Early prediction of pathological complete response (pCR) is important for deciding appropriate treatment strategies for patients. In this study, we aimed to quantify the dynamic characteristics of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance images (DCE-MRI) and investigate its value to improve pCR prediction as well as its association with tumor heterogeneity in breast cancer patients.

Methods: The DCE-MRI, clinicopathologic record, and full transcriptomic data of 785 breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy were retrospectively included from a public dataset.

Glioma is heterogeneous disease that requires classification into subtypes with similar clinical phenotypes, prognosis or treatment responses. Metabolic-protein interaction (MPI) can provide meaningful insights into cancer heterogeneity. Moreover, the potential of lipids and lactate for identifying prognostic subtypes of glioma remains relatively unexplored.
