Organocatalytic ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of lactones is a green method for accessing renewable and biodegradable polyesters. Developing new organocatalysts with high activity and controllability is a major and challenging research topic in this field. Here, we report a series of organocatalysts to achieve a fast and controlled ROP of lactones.

Double hydrosilylation of alkynes represents a straightforward method to synthesize bis(silane)s, yet it is challenging if α-substituted vinylsilanes act as the intermediates. Here, a cobalt-catalyzed regiodivergent double hydrosilylation of arylacetylenes is reported for the first time involving this challenge, accessing both vicinal and geminal bis(silane)s with exclusive regioselectivity. Various novel bis(silane)s containing Si-H bonds can be easily obtained.

Herein, the first example of linear nonconjugated polyesters with SMWLE is reported. Twenty-four kinds of nonconjugated aliphatic polyesters with tunable clusteroluminescence (CL) colors and efficiency were synthesized by the copolymerization of six epoxides and four anhydrides.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA capillary electrophoresis method with in-column light-emitting diode induced fluorescence detection is described for simultaneous determination of D,L-serine in the midbrain of a Parkinson's disease mouse. D,L-Serine was derivatized with fluorescein isothiocyanate, and chiral separation and determination of D,L-serine derivatives were performed on a laboratory-built capillary electrophoresis system with in-column light-emitting diode induced fluorescence detector using gamma-cyclodextrin as chiral selector. Using this method, the levels of D- and L-serine in the midbrains of Parkinson's disease mice were determined.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new analytical method based on capillary electrophoresis (CE) separation and optical fiber light-emitting diode (LED)-induced fluorescence detection has been developed for the determination of octopamine. Naphthalene-2,3-dicarboxaldehyde (NDA) was used for precolumn derivatization of octopamine. The separation and determination of the derivative was performed using a laboratory-built CE system with an optical fiber LED-induced fluorescence detector.
