Transition metal tellurides (TMTes) are promising anodes for potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) due to their high theoretical specific capacity and impressive electronic conductivity. Nevertheless, TMTes suffer from persistent capacity degradation due to the large volume expansion, high ion-diffusion energy barriers, and the dissolution/shuttle of potassium polytellurides (KTe). Herein, a heterostructured CoTe composite equipped with a self-catalytic center (N-CoTe/LTTC) is developed, exploiting its low-tortuosity tunneling, chemical tunability, and self-catalytic properties to elevate cycling stability to new heights.

Neuroinflammation is a key pathological factor of PD, and T cells play a central role in neuroinflammatory progression. However, the causal effect of T cell-related genes on the risk of PD is still unclear. We explored single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-Seq) datasets of the peripheral blood T cells of PD patients and healthy controls, and screened the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the cytotoxic CD4 + T cells relative to the other T cell subsets.

Weaving, a pivotal technique in human construction activities since the Neolithic era, remains unattainable in modern concrete construction. Here, a novel particle-polymer coalescence strategy is proposed, which involves electrostatic, bridging, coordinating, and hydrogen bonding interactions, to establish balanced particle cohesion, enabling the fabrication of stretchable cement slurry. The bending, knotting, coiling, winding, and interlacing of cement filaments for structural textiles is successfully realized beyond traditional formwork casting, grouting, and 3D-printing, and fabricate the first-ever Chinese knot woven with cement.

The mechanical properties of music wire are contingent upon its microstructure, which in turn influences its applications in music. Chinese stringed instruments necessitate exacting standards for comprehensive performance indexes, particularly with regard to the strength, resilience, and rigidity of the musical steel wires, which differ from the Western approach to musical wire. In this study, SWP-B music wire was selected for investigation through metal heat treatment, which was employed to regulate its microstructure characteristics.

The expression system has been developed into a chassis for the production of heterologous lipases, attributed to its strong capabilities in protein production and secretion, robust post-translational modifications, and favourable safety profile. However, the system's relatively low expression levels remain a challenge, hindering its ability to meet the increasing demands of large-scale production. Strain C19, screened by high-throughput methods combining droplet microfluidics and flow cytometry, was demonstrated to be a potential chassis cell based on fermentation kinetic analysis and transcriptome sequencing.

Herein, we report the rhodium-catalyzed -alkenyl transfer from tertiary allylic alcohols to aryl trifluoromethyl ketones, which provided an efficient way of preparation of trifluoromethyl-containing -allylic alcohols via β--alkenyl elimination. The key -alkenyl-rhodium species were generated with a high degree of stereochemical retention. This reaction featured a broad substrate scope and good functional tolerance and would offer a fascinating approach for the synthesis of -alkenes.

Alloying-type materials are promising anodes for sodium storage due to high specific capacities and appropriate redox potentials, but their practical application is impeded by rapid capacity decay from volume change during sodium ion insertion/extraction. Hence, a dual-type N-doped carbon-confined antimony (Sb) nanoparticle (Sb@DNC, where DNC contains an outer N-doped carbon armor and an inner N-doped grid-like carbon skeleton) anode material is fabricated via a self-sacrificial etching strategy to address this challenge. Specifically, the dual-type N-doped carbon matrix can prevent the agglomeration and precipitation of Sb particles, increase a large number of reactive active sites, alleviate severe volume expansion/contraction, and construct a highly interconnected electron/ion transport network.
