Probiotics are increasingly considered as an alternative to antibiotics in developing environmentally sustainable aquaculture practices. Hybrid sturgeon (Acipenser baerii ♀ × Acipenser schrenckii ♂), a globally popular species valued for its nutritional content and caviar, has limited research on host-associated probiotics. In this study, we isolated and identified Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens from healthy hybrid sturgeon and assessed their impact on growth, immunity, gut microbiota, and transcriptome following an 8-week feeding trial.

This work is aimed at exploring the mechanism of inflammatory factors and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1) regulated by nuclear transcription factor-B (NF-B) in unstable angina pectoris (UAP). 60 patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP), 60 patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP), and some healthy people (controls) were selected and included. Peripheral venous blood (PVB) of all subjects was collected to detect blood routine.

Polar components (PCs) are produced during the frying of oil, affecting the quality of edible oil and posing a hazard to human health. In this study, C57 mice were fed a high-fat (HF) diet containing purified PCs for nine weeks. Their effects on lipid metabolism and liver function in animals were analyzed.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is associated with low-grade chronic inflammation and intestinal dysbiosis. In this study, we investigated the potential benefits of sinapine, a rapeseed polyphenol known to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects, on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced NAFLD in C57BL/6 J mice and the underlying mechanisms. Four week-old mice were randomly divided into four groups and fed a low-fat diet (LFD), a HFD, a HFD with common rapeseed oil (HFD + CRO) and a HFD with sinapine in rapeseed oil (HFD + SRO) for 12 weeks.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of a single use of itraconazole for treating Penicillium marneffei infection in HIV-infected patients, help to develop a clinical medication regimen, and provide a scientific basis for treatment measures.

Method: A computerised literature search was carried out using the PubMed, EMbase, Ovid, Web of Science, Science Direct and CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) databases to collect relevant articles (from their establishment date to August 2014) using the following keywords: Itraconaz or Sporanox, HIV, AIDS, Penicillium marneffei (PSM), and Treatment. All related RCTs (Randomised Controlled Trials) were screened.

With reducing diamond grain size to nano-grade, the increase of grain boundaries and non-diamond phase will result in the change of the optical properties of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond films. In this paper, the structure, morphology and optical properties of nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) films, deposited by hot-filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) method under different carbon concentration, are investigated by SEM, Raman scattering spectroscopy, as well as optical transmission spectra and spectroscopic ellipsometry. With increasing the carbon concentration during the film deposition, the diamond grain size is reduced and thus a smooth diamond film can be obtained.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate how triple antiplatelet therapy affects platelet aggregation and activation in patients who had coronary stenting, comparing it with dual antiplatelet therapy.
  • It involved 120 patients who were divided into two groups, with one group receiving aspirin and clopidogrel plus cilostazol while the other received only aspirin and clopidogrel.
  • Results indicated that while some measures of platelet activation (such as CD62p and PAC-1) were significantly higher in the triple therapy group, the differences in platelet aggregation rates were not statistically significant between the two groups.

Objective: To evaluate short-term efficacy and safety of triple antiplatelet regimen (cilostazol combined with clopidogrel and aspirin) in patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods: From October 2001 to April 2005, a total of 3135 patients underwent PCI in the General Hospital of Shenyang Command, People's Liberation Army, of which 1103 were treated with cilostazol 100 mg twice a day for 6 months in addition to aspirin and clopidogrel for 3 - 12 months as triple antiplatelet therapy regimen (triple group) after PCI, and 2032 of which received aspirin and clopidogrel for 3 - 12 months as dual antiplatelet therapy regimen after PCI (control group). The data of the incidence rates of major adverse cardiac events (MACE), subacute in-stent thrombosis (SAT), and hemorrhage events within 30 days after PCI of the two groups were retrospectively analyzed.

In this paper, two types of detectors, one with a coplanar and the other with a sandwich geometry using an identical CVD diamond film, were fabricated in order to investigate the effects of the film microstructure on the performance of diamond film alpha-particle detectors. An average charge collection efficiency of 42.9% for the coplanar structure and of 37.
