Attenuation of Myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury by Geniposide preconditioning in diabetic rats.

Studies have shown that the NRF-2 /HO-1 pathway participates in myocardial ischemic reperfusion injury (MI/R) and that Geniposide (GEN) could protect the myocardial against MI/R. This study aims to examine the protective effects of GEN on MI/R in diabetic rats and further explore the possible mechanism of action. During MI/R in rats, NRF-2 /HO-1signals changed significantly including NRF-2 and HO-1up-regulation, resulting in heart dysfuction, histological damage and increasing oxidative stress and cell apoptosis.

[Blood pressure variability correlates with target-organ damage in elderly patients with hypertension].

Objective: To investigate the relationship between blood pressure variability (BPV)and target-organ damage in elderly patients with hypertension.

Methods: A total of 197 elderly patients were included in the study. The participants were divided into two groups: those with hypertension (n=146) and those without hypertension (Control, n=51).

[Study on the accuracy of dual source computed tomography coronary angiography in detection of coronary artery stenoses in old patients].

Objective: To investigate the accuracy of dual source computed tomography (DSCT) coronary angiography in detecton of coronary artery stenoses in patients older than 60 years.

Methods: The study was performed in 102 patients older than 60 years who were suspected of coronary artery stenoses, and without any contraindications to CT Scan and iodnated contrast agents. These patients underwent DSCT, as well as selective coronary angiography (SCA).
