Platinum (Pt) catalyst performance loss caused by a high local oxygen transport resistance is an urgent problem to be solved for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Rationally arranging Pt particles on carbon support is the primary approach for reducing mass transport resistance. Herein, using a unique method coupling Hybrid Reverse Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics simulations, and experimental measurements, a Pt particle arrangement strategy is proposed to reduce local oxygen transport resistance, based on a molecular-level understanding of its impact.

Therefore, this study aims to investigate the efficacy of comprehensive spinal correction rehabilitation in treating EOIS.
Methods And Analysis: This study will be designed as a randomised controlled trial, and the subjects participating in the study will consist of 122 EOIS patients between the ages of 7-10 years.
Human parainfluenza virus (PIV) is a main cause of acute lower respiratory tract infections (ALRTIs), which contributes to childrens' mortality worldwide; however, the epidemiology of PIVs following the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is still not clarified, and poses risks of potential outbreaks. Herein, we conducted a retrospective observational study from September 26, 2020 to September 30, 2023 to assess PIV epidemiology in Wuhan, China, as well as the clinical characteristics of PIV infections. In total, 14,065 inpatients with ALRTIs were enrolled, of which 936 were identified to have PIV infection.

However, the thermal quenching will exacerbate their performance degradation in practical applications, which is a common issue for halide perovskites. Here, we reported the heat-resistant FAPbBr NCs prepared by a ligand-engineered room-temperature synthesis strategy.

We constructed two DL-based segmentation models to delineate the FT, OD, peripapillary atrophy (PPA), and macula at a pixel-level resolution. The study sought to identify differences in fundus characteristics between eyes categorized as having high myopia versus mild or moderate myopia.

Upcycling iron slag into a monolithic catalyst has led to low-cost heterogeneous catalytic ozonation (HCO) strategies for water treatment. The primary industrial challenges are the low chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction rate in treating authentic wastewater and difficulties sustaining close-loop reaction cycles. In this study, we present a monolithic catalyst transformed from low-cost iron oxide scale slag (IOS) for highly efficient, sustainable ozone catalysis.

This formulation employed nano-pearl powder (NPP) as the particle stabilizer for the Pickering emulsion and Bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) as the gel matrix. The pH, rheological properties, hardness, and elasticity of AMO-PEG were affected by the ratio of AMO-Pickering emulsion (AMO-PE) to BSP gel matrix.

Early research on three-dimensional (3D) perovskites showed low radiative efficiencies due to modest exciton binding energies. To inprove luminescence, reducing dimensionality or grain size has been a common approach.

Methods: Thirty-one children with type III BA who underwent surgical treatment in two centers from January 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively collected.
In addition to residual tumor cells, surgery-induced inflammation significantly contributes to tumor recurrence and metastasis by recruiting polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs) and promoting their involvement in tumor cell proliferation, invasion and immune evasion. Efficiently eliminating residual tumor cells while concurrently intervening in PMN function represents a promising approach for enhanced postoperative cancer treatment. Here, a chitosan/polyethylene oxide electrospun fibrous scaffold co-delivering celecoxib (CEL) and doxorubicin-loaded tumor cell-derived microparticles (DOX-MPs) is developed for postoperative in-situ treatment in breast cancer.

Methanococcus maripaludis, known for rapid growth and genetic tractability, serves as an exemplary model for studying archaeal biology and exploring CObased biotechnological applications. However, tools for controlled gene regulation remain deficient and CRISPR-Cas tools still need improved in this archaeon, limiting its application as an archaeal model cellular factory.

Herein, mitigating the structural matching and templating effects by adjusting the surface morphology and wettability can inhibit icing on the platinum (Pt) catalyst surface effectively. The Pt(211) surface can inhibit icing because the atomic spacing of (211) crystalline surface is much larger than the characteristic distance of ice crystal, thereby mitigating the structural matching effects.

Understanding this transition is of scientific and technological significance, as it offers an important pathway for effectively tuning the structure and property of glasses. In contrast to the PT observed in conventional metallic glasses (MGs), which typically exhibit a pronounced first-order nature, herein we report a continuous PT (CPT) without first-order characteristics in high-entropy MGs (HEMGs) upon heating.

Global investigation of medulloblastoma has been hindered by the widespread inaccessibility of molecular subgroup testing and paucity of data. To bridge this gap, we established an international molecularly characterized database encompassing 934 medulloblastoma patients from thirteen centers across China and the United States. We demonstrate how image-based machine learning strategies have the potential to create an alternative pathway for non-invasive, presurgical, and low-cost molecular subgroup prediction in the clinical management of medulloblastoma.
