Metastasis in lung cancer portends a poor prognosis, and the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer cells is considered a prerequisite to achieve metastatic potential. Recent studies indicate that BTB/POZ domain-containing protein 7 (BTBD7) regulates EMT-associated proteins in human malignancies and however, the role of BTBD7 in lung cancer have not been identified. In present study, we examined BTBD7 expression status and its association with unfavorable clinical features in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Article Synopsis
  • Leucyl-tRNA synthetases (LeuRSs) are essential for attaching leucine to its corresponding tRNA, consisting of a catalytic domain for aminoacylation and a CP1 editing domain.
  • The CP1 domain must swing to connect with the aminoacylation domain, and its structure, particularly the CP1 hairpin, plays a vital role in this movement and their interaction.
  • Deleting or substituting the CP1 hairpin in human LeuRS resulted in loss of key functions like tRNA binding, while the hairpin from yeast LeuRS could partially restore function, highlighting the importance of specific amino acids in maintaining LeuRS's activity.

Objective: To investigate if the interaction between TGF-beta1/Smad pathway and ERK pathway in vascular smooth muscle cells exists.

Methods: The rat arota was removed. The primary VSMC were isolated and cultured in vitro, then the VSMC were divided into four groups: (1) control group, (2) (TGF-beta1 group, (3) ERK blocking agent group, (4) TGF-beta1 + ERK blocking agent group.
