Conventional preformed particle gels suffer from insufficient salt tolerance and weak mechanical properties after water absorption, which reduce the water shutoff effect in mature oilfields. In this paper, a nanocomposite particle gel (NCPG) is synthesized by copolymerization of acrylamide (AM) and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) using laponite RD (LPT) as a physical cross-linker and ,-methylene-bisacrylamide (MBA) as a chemical cross-linker via in situ free radical polymerization. Compared with the NCPG without LPT, both the swelling rate and mechanical properties of NCPG added with LPT are found to be improved.

Using a solvatochromic dye and fluorescence microscopy, we determined the phase behavior of 11 HOA proxies (O/C = 0-0.29) each mixed with 7 different SOA materials generated in environmental chambers (O/C 0.

This study explored a potential role of ICA in recruiting stem cell niches (SCNs) within the intervertebral disc region (ISN)-derived stem cells (ISN-SCs) to treat intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD).
Materials And Methods: EdU staining, transwell, and wound healing tests were used to analyze the function of ICA on ISN-SCs proliferation and migration ability.
Refined montan wax (RMW) is a lignite-based chemical product with wide application and high added value. However, research on its processing and performance is very limited. Currently, four parameters in the key preparation procedure for the oxidation bleaching of RMW, including the concentration of two oxidants (HSO (P1) and CrO (P2)), oxidation time (P3), and the mass ratio of CrO used in two oxidation steps (P4), were systematically evaluated in regard to their impact on the properties and chemistry of RMW.

NHCl could act as a catalyst to reduce the gelation time from 7 days in dilute water to 8 h in the presence of 0.8 wt % NHCl.

We hypothesised that EA alleviates pain by inhibiting degradation of the ecto-nucleotidase prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) and facilitating ATP dephosphorylation in dorsal root ganglions (DRGs).
Methods: We applied EA in male C57 mice subjected to chronic constriction injury (CCI) and assessed extracellular ATP and 5'-nucleotidease expression in DRGs.

Background: Antibody-drug conjugates have recently been introduced as a treatment for advanced urothelial carcinoma. The EV-301 study demonstrated that enfortumab vedotin (EV) improved overall survival compared with conventional chemotherapy. To assess the cost-effectiveness of EV for the treatment of advanced urothelial carcinoma (UC) from a payer perspective in middle- and high-income countries.

However, it is still a challenge to detect the damage of firefighting protective clothing at an early stage when firefighters are exposed to excessively high temperature in fire cases. Herein, an ultralight self-powered fire alarm electronic textile (SFA e-textile) based on conductive aerogel fiber that comprises calcium alginate (CA), FeO nanoparticles (FeO NPs), and silver nanowires (Ag NWs) was developed, which achieved ultrasensitive temperature monitoring and energy harvesting in firefighting clothing.

In yeast, serine functions as a precursor in the biosynthesis of S-containing compounds, which facilitates HS consumption. To investigate the effect of serine on HS release and the underlying mechanism, extracellular and intracellular serine levels were separately increased under fermentation conditions.

Her past medical history revealed an ill-defined mass in the pancreatic uncinate (approximately 1 cm in size) and liver nodules in segment II, suggesting a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET) and liver metastases. After the operation, pathological examination showed that the lesion in the pancreas was MiNEN.

This study was performed to investigate the curative efficacy and safety of the TurboHawk system for ISR in PAD patients over 60 years old.
Methods: The TurboHawk atherectomy device was used to treat ISR in 28 patients with PAD.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of low-intensity ultrasound (LIUS) in promoting uterine involution and relieving postpartum pain.
Methods: The randomized controlled clinical trial in this study was conducted at five centers in three regions across China from June 2014 to December 2014. A total of 498 subjects were randomly divided into two groups.
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a disease of the immune system with a high rate of disability and there are a large amount of valuable disease diagnosis and treatment information in the clinical note of the electronic medical record. Artificial intelligence methods can be used to mine useful information in clinical notes effectively. This study aimed to develop an effective method to identify and classify medical entities in the clinical notes relating to RA and use the entity identification results in subsequent studies.

The hepatotoxicity of PFOS has attracted particular attention, given the fact that the liver has one of the highest PFOS accumulations among human tissues. In this study, we revealed that subchronic PFOS exposure may exacerbate carbon tetrachloride (CCl )-induced liver fibrosis in animal models.

This study aimed to describe the clinical presentation, method of preoperative planning and surgery, and perioperative management of a giant sternal chondrosarcoma in an advanced-age patient. We describe the case of an 80-year-old woman who presented with a rare giant sternal chondrosarcoma.

Herein, this study aims to explore the effect of XYP on chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS)-induced depression and its underlying mechanisms. CUMS-induced depression rat models were established, they were subsequently randomly divided and treated with various conditions.

Lipid rafts regulate the density and activity of signal receptors by compartmentalizing them, promoting signalling cascades that play important roles in the survival, death and metastasis of cancer cells. Holographic pancake optics have been designed and fabricated in eyewear display optics literature dating back to 1985, however, a see-through pancake optic solution has not been demonstrated to date. The key contribution here is the first full-color volume holographic pancake optic in an optical see-through configuration for applications in mobile augmented reality. Specifically, the full-color volume holographic pancake is combined with a flat lightguide in order to achieve the optical see-through property.
