To better understand the pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), Comparative proteomic analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) between patients with GBS (the experiment group) and control subjects suffering from other neurological disorders (the control group) was carried out using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) technique, in combination with matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and database searching to determine abnormal CSF proteins in GBS patients. Image analysis of 2-DE gels silver stained revealed that 10 protein spots showed significant differential expression between the two groups of CSF samples. The expression of cystatin C, transthyretin, apolipoprotein E and heat shock protein 70 were decreased.

In order to investigate the development of Kunming mouse preimplantation embryos cultured in vitro under simulated microgravtiy, one-cell and 4-cell embryos of Kunming mouse (Fertilization In Situ) were cultured in CZB or KSOM media under simulated microgravity or normal gravity environment respectively. The results showed that under normal gravity, the percentage of passing 2-cell development block embryos was not different in CZB with in KSOM, but the percentage of blastocysts was lower in CZB than that in KSOM significantly. The percentages of passing 2-cell development block embryos and blastocysts in CZB or KSOM were lower under simulated microgravity than those under normal gravity.

Objective: To investigate the apoptotic situation of CD(34) positive cells in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

Method: In 36 MDS patients, immunocytochemical technique was used for the detection of the expression of CD(34) antigen and DNA in situ end labelling (ISEL) (fluorescein) for the apoptotic signals. Fourteen cases of iron deficiency anemias (IDA) were used as controls.

Objective: To observe the relationship between macrophage proliferation and cell apoptosis in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

Methods: A double labelling method of immunohistochemistry (alkaline phosphatase anti-alkaline phosphatase, APAAP) and ISEL (DNA in situ end labelling) was used to detect the positive CD68 expression (macrophages) and apoptosis on cold plastic embedded bone marrow biopsy sections in 30 MDS cases. 12 cases of iron deficient diseases (IDA) were used as the control.

In order to observe the proliferative and apoptotic situation of megakaryocytes in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). CD41 immunoenzyme labeling (alkaline phosphatase anti-alkaline phosphatase APAAP)/DNA in situ end labelling (ISEL) double stained techniques was used onto plastic cold embedded bone marrow sections in 29 MDS patients to analyse the proliferative and apoptostic characterization of megakaryocytic line with 14 cases of iron deficient diseases (IDA) as control. The results showed that the mean CD41 positive cell number in MDS group was (26.
