Objective: Virtual screening was performed to analyze Chemoinformatics of chemical components of Tiaopi Huxin Recipe (TPHXR) to provide guidance for its further research.
Methods: Distribution of some descriptors were described and principal component analysis (PCA) were performed to map these multiple descriptor values into a 2D plane. Molecular docking was conducted to determine the interaction between chemical components of TPHXR and key target enzymes of cardiovascular system.
Background: Heat shock proteins (Hsps) are a family of evolutionary conserved proteins classified according to their size as small and large Hsps. They have a cytoprotective role and have been shown to be immunogenic molecules. In addition, self-reactivity to Hsps has been implicated in various autoimmune diseases and in the development of alloimmunity.

Lower numbers and shorter lifespan are characteristic of CD8(+)CD57(+) in normal individuals. However, CD8(+)CD57(+) are expanded in certain disease states including T cell large granular leukemia and other hematologic malignancies.

Methods: Complete or partial post-PCI revascularization of coronary artery was employed in 16 patients with a low LVEF and complex small coronary artery lesions who were unsuitable for CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting). All cases were observed with regards to immediate success rate of operation, complication, hospitalization duration, improvement of cardiac function and LVEF and major adverse cardiac events (including cardiac death, myocardial infarction and target lesion revascularization) at 12 months post-operation.
The biologic relationship between small B-cell lymphoma and histiocytic sarcoma (HS) when occurring in the same patient remains unclear, though recent data suggest a possible 'transdifferentiation' from follicular lymphoma (FL) to HS. We investigated the clonal relationship in two cases of small B-cell lymphoma with subsequent HS. Case 1: A 62-year-old female with splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL) developed HS in a groin lymph node 1 year after the primary diagnosis.

We aim to investigate OCM for ex vivo imaging of upper and lower gastrointestinal tract tissues, to establish correlations between OCM imaging and histology, and to provide a baseline for future endoscopic studies. Co-registered OCM and OCT imaging were performed on fresh surgical specimens and endoscopic biopsy specimens, and images were correlated with histology.

Its over-expression has been demonstrated in hepatocellular, basal cell carcinoma, and ovarian cancers but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate if Lgr5 over-expression was correlated with human colorectal carcinogenesis and its potential correlation with beta-catenin.

To date, the mechanism by which these polarity proteins assemble at the leading edge of migrating epithelial cells remains unclear. We report that occludin, a transmembrane protein, is localized at the leading edge of migrating cells and regulates directional cell migration.

The aim of the present research was to analyze the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of the novel influenza A (H1N1) in China. We retrospectively analyzed the epidemiological information and clinical characteristics of 150 patients with the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus infection by descriptive epidemiology. There were 82 males and 68 females in this group.

Chromosomal 11q23 abnormality, frequently detected in therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia, is the most common cytogenetic alteration in t-ALL. However, t-ALL cases without 11q23 abnormality have been rarely described.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcquired resistance through genetic mutations is a common phenomenon in several cancer therapies using molecularly targeted drugs, best exemplified by the BCR-ABL inhibitor imatinib in treating chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Overcoming acquired resistance is a daunting therapeutic challenge, and little is known about how these mutations evolve. To facilitate understanding the resistance mechanisms, we developed a novel culture model for CML acquired resistance in which the CML cell line KCL-22, following initial response to imatinib, develops resistant T315I BCR-ABL mutation.

The water hyacinth material was utilized to substitute sawdust in the media for mushroom cultivation. Mushroom fruiting bodies harvested were evaluated for yield, amino acid and heavy metal contents.

We investigated pol delta activities in vitro and found that it was less active in the absence of POLD4, irrespective of the presence of the accessory protein PCNA. shRNA-mediated reduction of POLD4 resulted in a marked decrease in colony formation activity by Calu6, ACC-LC-319, and PC-10 cells.

ALCL cases with extensive bone marrow and peripheral blood involvement manifested as "leukemic phase" are extremely rare and the most of those cases reported are anaplastic large cell lymphoma kinase (ALK) positive ALCL in childhood population. Here we report four adult cases of ALK-negative ALCL with extensive bone marrow and peripheral blood involvement manifested as "leukemic phase".

Methods: 408 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and 40 normal controls were recruited. Height, weight were measured, insulin and glucose of 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 120 min during oral glucose tolerance test were examined.

We describe an extremely rare case of so-called nonsecretory, nonproducer myeloma in an 80-year-old man who presented with weight loss and anemia. The patient's serum protein electrophoresis was negative for M protein spike, and quantitation of his immunoglobulin level was far below the normal range. The bone marrow biopsy showed a sheet-like diffuse plasmacytic infiltrate with essential absence of trilineage hematopoiesis.
