To discover novel antiviral agents, based on the high antiviral activity of (4-oxo-4-quinolin-1-yl)-acetic acid hydrazide (), a series of 4-oxo-4-quinoline acylhydrazone derivatives were designed, synthesized, and first evaluated for their antiviral and fungicidal activities. Most acylhydrazone derivatives exhibited moderate to good antiviral activities in vivo. The inactive, curative, and protective activities of compounds (51.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers studied how the muscles around the spine might be connected to a condition called idiopathic scoliosis, which causes curved spines.
  • They looked at 27 patients and used special techniques to measure spine angles and muscle activity in different positions.
  • The results showed that the way these muscles work can change based on a person's posture, suggesting that muscle imbalance might not be the main cause of scoliosis but could affect it during certain activities.

Great efforts have been made to tackle the issues of the shuttle effect and kinetics hysteresis in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery, but few on tuning the reaction path of sulfur cathode. Herein, we report a strategy to replace inorganic sulfur with liquid organosulfide and construct a novel liquid-liquid interface between cathode and electrolyte, which effectively inhibits the shuttle effect and simplifies the solid-liquid-solid conversion reaction to only liquid-solid process, thus greatly improving the reaction kinetics. The Li|PTS half-cell exhibits excellent cycling stability at 0.
