A metal-free and mild approach for constructing 5-amino-1,2-selenazole skeletons by NBS/KSeCN-mediated -selenocyanation and nucleophilic cyclization of β-enaminones has been developed. Various isoselenazole compounds and the isoselenazolyl derivatives of anti-inflammatory medicines, including isosepac, oxaprozin, and ibuprofen, have been obtained with good yields. This efficient, "one-pot", and atomic economy strategy may represent an alternative route for the construction of a 1,2-selenazole framework via the "SeCN" pathway and provide new access to heterocycles containing a Se-N bond.

We developed an array of Zea-Tripsacum tri-hybrid allopolyploids with multiple ploidies. We unveiled that changes in genome dosage due to the chromosomes pyramiding and shuffling of three species effects karyotypic heterogeneity, reproductive diversity, and phenotypic variation in Zea-Tripsacum allopolyploids. By hybridization and special sexual reproduction, we sequentially aggregated Zea mays, Zea perennis, and Tripsacum dactyloides in an allohexaploid, backcrossed it with maize, derived self-fertile allotetraploids of maize and Z. perennis by natural genome extraction, extended their first six selfed generations, and finally constructed amphitetraploid maize using nascent allotetraploids as a genetic bridge. Dopaminergic (DA) cell death in Parkinson's disease (PD) is associated with the gradual appearance of neuronal protein aggregates termed Lewy bodies (LBs) that are comprised of vesicular membrane structures and dysmorphic organelles in conjunction with the protein alpha-Synuclein (α-Syn). Although the exact mechanism of neuronal aggregate formation and death remains elusive, recent research suggests α-Syn-mediated alterations in the lysosomal degradation of aggregated proteins and organelles - a process termed autophagy.
