- Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are increasingly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but their cardiovascular safety is still not fully established.
- A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials were conducted to compare cardiovascular risks associated with different JAK inhibitors in RA patients.
- The analysis of 14 selected trials involving 13,524 patients found no significant differences in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared to placebo, but indicated that JAK inhibitors showed higher all-cause mortality rates compared to adalimumab.
