Metal oxide photocatalysts loaded with metal species are extremely important in photocatalysis. The physicochemical states of metal species, as well as the interaction between metal species and support, determine the transfer of charge carriers between the heterointerface, which has a significant impact on photocatalytic activity. Here, we prepared anatase TiO nanosheets (TIO) modified with different Ag species, including single atoms, clusters, and nanoparticles, using a ligand-mediated method.

The conjugated structure of graphitic polymeric carbon nitrides (GPCNs) has low efficiency in the photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (HO) production, due to the electronic properties, band structure, and surface-active-sites. Herein, boron and carbon-ring modified GPCNs were synthesized with via a thermal condensation method, using melamine and phenylboronic acid as raw materials. The introduced boron atom, conjugated to the carbon atom in the heptazine moiety, and the adjacent nitrogen vacancy (V) formed a dual-site, which not only modified the electronic properties but also promoted the adsorption and activation of molecular dioxygen; The carbon-ring introduced altered the band structure and electron distribution, which was proved by density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are highly harmful to human beings and other organisms, and thus the elimination of VOCs is extremely urgent. Here, La-Si co-doped TiO microsphere photocatalysts, which were prepared by a hydrothermal method, exhibited high photocatalytic activity in the decomposition of formaldehyde compared with TiO. The improved activity can be attributed to the promoted separation efficiency and density of the charge carriers, as verified by the electrochemical results in combination with density functional theory calculations.

The high mortality rate in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is partially due to the fact that a significant number of patients are diagnosed at an intermediate or advanced stage, with surgical treatment options unavailable. Conversion therapy, which involves both locoregional and systemic treatments, has the potential to downstage tumors in selected patients with initially unresectable HCC, thereby making surgical treatment a possibility and potentially increasing long-term survival. To optimize the conversion rate, it is necessary to maximize successful conversions and clearly define the target population for conversion treatment through a collaborative effort.

Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors (ZHCs) combining merits of battery-type and capacitive electrodes are considered to be a prospective candidate in energy storage systems. Tailor-made carbon cathodes with high zincophilicity and abundant physi/chemisorption sites are critical but it remains a great challenge to achieve both features by a sustainable means. Herein, a hydrogen-bonding interaction-guided self-assembly strategy is presented to prepare iodine-doped carbon nanocages without templates for boosting zinc-ion storage by nucleophilicity.

Well-dispersed MIL-100(Fe) nanoparticles were synthesized under mild conditions and used to construct a photo-Fenton system (VMH system) with the assistance of visible-light irradiation and hydrogen peroxide. In such a VMH system, the MIL-100(Fe) has a high specific surface area and provides numerous Fe active sites, thus accelerating the reaction of Fe with photo-generated electrons under visible-light irradiation and generates Fe, and then the acquired Fe can activate HO to generate OH, accompanying with the oxidation of Fe to Fe. Hence, the recycling of Fe/Fe promotes the generation of ·OH, thus making the VMH system exhibits promising photocatalytic activity.

Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have significantly advanced image synthesis through mapping randomly sampled latent codes to high-fidelity synthesized images. However, applying well-trained GANs to real image editing remains challenging. A common solution is to find an approximate latent code that can adequately recover the input image to edit, which is also known as GAN inversion.

The construction of heterointerface in photocatalyst is an efficient approach to boost the separation and utilization efficiency of charge carriers, which is challenging and crucial in photocatalysis. Here, the construction of melon-structured carbon nitride/N-doped WO (MCN/NW) heterojunction photocatalyst was achieved by a method of prealcoholysis combined with thermal polymerization, where N-doping of WO was achieved in-situ in the formation of heterojunction. The promoted charge separation efficiency was realized through the charge transfer from the conduction band of N-doped WO to the valence band of the MCN.

Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been categorized as a form of inflammatory cell death mode of neutrophils (NETosis) involved in natural immunity and the regulation of adaptive immunity. More and more studies revealed the ability of NETs to reshape the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) by limiting antitumor effector cells, which may impair the efficacy of immunotherapy. To explore whether NETs-related genes make vital impacts on Colon carcinoma (COAD), we have carried out a systematic analysis and showed several findings in the present work.

We propose a simple yet effective reflection-free cue for robust reflection removal from a pair of flash and ambient (no-flash) images. The reflection-free cue exploits a flash-only image obtained by subtracting the ambient image from the corresponding flash image in raw data space. The flash-only image is equivalent to an image taken in a dark environment with only a flash on.
