Background: Circular RNA (circRNA) has recently emerged as having a key role in cancer initiation and progression. A prior study exhibited that hsa_circ_0070440 (circ_0070440) was significantly up-regulated in lung cancer cells, but the role and molecular mechanism of circ_0070440 during lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) development remain unclear.

Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), Reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR), RNase R digestion, and Nuclear/cytoplasmic fractionation assay were employed to validate circ_0070440.

The present study aimed to analyze the differentially expressed genes related to the tripartite motif containing 58 (TRIM58)/cg26157385 methylation sites, and consequently to provide theoretical basis for elucidating the influence of TRIM58/cg26157385 methylation on lung cancer prognosis. Methylation‑sequencing information, mRNA expression profiling data and clinical data were downloaded from cBioPortal database to screen out candidate genes related to the methylation of TRIM58/cg26157385 in squamous cell lung carcinoma. The differentially expressed genes related to TRIM58 methylation were extracted form both training dataset and validation dataset.

Background: The class A scavenger receptor, which is encoded by the macrophage scavenger receptor 1 (MSR1) gene, is a pattern recognition receptor (PPR) primarily expressed in macrophages. It has been reported that genetic polymorphisms of MSR1 are significantly associated with many cardiovascular events. However, whether it links genetically to essential hypertension (EH) in Chinese is not defined.
