Dandelion (Taraxacum genus), a perennial herb belonging to the Asteraceae family is widely distributed in hillside grasslands, roadsides, fields, and river beaches in middle and low-altitude areas. It has a long history of traditional Chinese medicine usage as a heat-clearing and detoxifying agent, often consumed as tea or vegetable. Multiple pharmacological studies have demonstrated the antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immune-regulating, antioxidant, anti-tumor, and other effects of the Taraxacum genus.

Currently, there is no specific treatment or preventive drug for DCM, and there is an urgent need to develop new drugs to treat DCM. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has rich experience in the treatment of DCM, and its characteristics of multi-target, multi-pathway, multi-component, and few side effects can effectively deal with the complexity and long-term nature of DCM.

Gasdermin E (GSDME), a crucial component of the gasdermin (GSDM) family proteins, has the ability to convert caspase-3-mediated apoptosis to pyroptosis of cancer cells and activate anti-tumor immunity. Accumulating evidence indicates that GSDME methylation holds tremendous potential as a biomarker for early detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of tumors.

Neferine is used as a traditional Chinese medicine with many pharmacological effects, including antitumor properties; however, it has not been reported whether neferine plays an anticancer role by causing pyroptosis in NSCLC cells. We used two typical lung cancer cell lines, A549 and H1299, and 42 lung cancer tissue samples to investigate the regulatory effects of neferine on TGF-β and MST1.

Background And Objective: Buyanghuanwu Decoction (BYHWD) is a clinically proven prescription effective in treating pulmonary fibrosis (PF), but the molecular mechanism underlying its action remains unclear. The network pharmacology analysis was performed to elucidate the acting substances and related pathways of BYHWD in treating bleomycin (BLM) induced PF mouse.
Methods: First, the pharmacologically active components and corresponding targets in BYHWD were identified through the TCMSP database and literature review.
To explore the deep mechanisms of ursolic acid (UA) for treating atherosclerosis based on network pharmacology and bioinformatics. UA target genes were derived from traditional Chinese medicine system pharmacology, BATMAN-TCM, and SwissTargetPrediction databases. Atherosclerosis-related genes were derived from genecards, NCBI genes, and OMIM databases.

It is recognized as a potent inflammatory response required for maintaining organismal homeostasis. However, excessive and persistent pyroptosis contributes to severe inflammatory responses and accelerates the progression of numerous inflammation-related disorders.

Network pharmacology and experiments were combined to explore the potential mechanism of action of SGD on T2DM. The material basis and action mechanism of SGD were investigated to reveal the active components of SGD, potential target prediction was conducted from TargetNet, PharmMapper; Cytoscape was used to construct PPI network and component-target-pathway (C-T-P) network diagram to interpret biological processes and enrich action pathways.

Emerging evidence indicated that long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are involved in the pathogenesis of cervical cancer. LINC01287 has been reported to play crucial regulatory roles in the pathogenesis and progression of multiple cancers.

Currently, the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus among women with polycystic ovary syndrome varies greatly across studies, ranged from 4.12% to 59.

Previous studies have shown that SGY-P could reduce insulin resistance and repair damaged pancreas in db/db mice, but the underlying mechanisms were unclear. Here, we investigated whether treatment with SGY-P could protect pancreatic β-cells from apoptosis and uncovered the underlying mechanisms.

Sangguayin (SGY), comprising four types of Chinese herbs, can be used as both food and medicine and has been clinically used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) for a long time. Our previous study demonstrated the antidiabetic effect of SGY in experimental T2DM rats fed with a high-fat diet and treated with a low dose of streptozotocin. However, its mechanism of action is questionable.
