Phase noise characteristics of ultrafast fiber lasers are critical to practical applications, such as high-resolution photonics sampling. Herein, we investigated the impact of pump power and linear phase shift difference of counter-propagating light in the nonlinear amplifying loop mirror on phase noise suppression in a figure-9 fiber laser. Based on these results, we proposed a method for intelligent suppression of phase noise through real-time feedback control.

Article Synopsis
  • Multi-soliton operation in fiber lasers allows for the study of soliton dynamics and high pulse repetition rates, but controlling the spacing between solitons remains a challenge.
  • A hybrid genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) is proposed to automate and precisely control the temporal spacing of solitons in an ultrafast fiber laser.
  • This method enables on-demand spacing and even achieves harmonic mode locking for double solitons, which could enhance understanding of nonlinear dynamics and improve the efficiency of fiber lasers.

Investigating kinetic mechanisms to design efficient photocatalysts is critical for improving photocatalytic CO reduction, but the stochastic photo-physical/chemical properties of kinetics remain unclear. Herein, we propose a statistical study to discuss the stochastic feature evolution of photocatalytic systems. The uncertainties of light absorption, charge carrier migration, and surface reaction are described by nonparametric estimation methods in the proposed model, which includes the effect of operational and material parameters.

Compared to magnetorheological fluid, magnetorheological gel has better anti-settling performance and stability. Therefore, magnetorheological gel is suitable for devices that can meet operational requirements in all aspects after long-term storage, such as the anti-recoil application of weapons. To study this in-depth, the mechanism of the influence of magnetorheological gel micro-magnetic-mechanical properties on the macro-output damping mechanics of the damper, a parallel plate model of the mixed flow mode composed of Couette shear flow and Poiseuille pressure flow was established.

Artificial photoreduction of CO is vital for the sustainable development of human beings via solar energy storage in stable chemicals. This process involves intricate light-matter interactions, but the role of incident light intensity in photocatalysis remains obscure. Herein, the influence of excitation intensity on charge kinetics and photocatalytic activity is investigated.

A concise and efficient procedure for the total synthesis of natural stilbene dimer (±)--viniferin was accomplished with high overall yield. Demethylation of the key intermediate methyl 3-arylbenzofuran-4-carboxylate was achieved successfully through bromination followed by BBr-or BCl/TBAI-mediated ether cleavage reaction. Pd/C and bromobenzene-catalyzed MOM ether cleavage was successfully carried out to aquire (±)--viniferin.

A new approach for the total synthesis of the active stilbene dimer dehydro--viniferin has been achieved in 9 steps with methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and 3,5-dihydroxyacetophenone as starting materials. The key feature of the method is the amberlyst 15-mediated cyclodehydration of α-aryloxyketone. [Formula: see text].
