Diabetic vascular complications are closely associated with long-term vascular dysfunction and poor neovascularization. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) play pivotal roles in maintaining vascular homeostasis and triggering angiogenesis, and EPC dysfunction contributes to defective angiogenesis and resultant diabetic vascular complications.
