The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is a novel biomarker that reflects the balance between the host immune response and inflammation, two key pathophysiological processes involved in sepsis. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the relationship between SII at admission and short-term mortality in patients with sepsis. Literature searches were performed in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, and Wanfang up to August 30, 2024, using relevant search terms.

The disease is associated with chronic inflammation, which is associated with the onset and progression of COPD, but anti-inflammatory therapy is not first-line treatment. Inflammation has multiple manifestations and phenotypes, and this heterogeneity reveals different patterns of inflammation, making treatment difficult.

Objectives: Diabetes has been related to higher risk and poor prognosis of patients with tuberculosis, while the influence of prediabetes on the treatment outcome of patients with tuberculosis remains not determined. A meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the influence of prediabetes on treatment outcome of patients with tuberculosis.
Methods: Relevant cohort studies were acquired through a search of Medline, Embase, and Web of Science databases.

Background: This study aims to determine the satisfaction and future training needs of general practice residents participating in a novel model of ambulatory teaching aligned with the specifications for standardized residency training in outpatient management issued by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA).
Methods: A cross-sectional survey of the satisfaction and training needs was conducted among general practice residents at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Patient characteristics and preceptors' feedback on the residents' performance were also analyzed.
Background: The insufficient number of general practitioners (GPs) is a major challenge facing China's healthcare system. The purpose of the GP transfer training programme was to provide training for experienced doctors to transition to general practice. However, research on the competencies of GP transfer training trainers in teaching skills in China is limited.

Objectives: We aimed to examine current comorbidity characteristics as well as correlations among diseases in individuals aged >60 years.
Background: Although outdoor air pollution is reported to have a negative effect on frailty, evidence involving household air pollution is sparse.
Methods: A cohort study on older participants aged ≥65 years from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey was conducted between 2011/2012 and 2014. Household cooking fuel types were determined by self-reported questionaries, and were dichotomized into clean or biomass fuels.
Introduction: To determine the effectiveness of the Star Family Doctors Training Program, a comprehensive Continuing professional development (CPD) program for general practitioners (GPs) in a compact medical consortium.
Patients And Methods: Observational cohort study with a quantitative analyses in primary health care institutions in Sichuan Province. The interventions were as following: (1) The Star Family Doctors Training Program is a full-time, local government allocation program certified by the Health Department of Sichuan Province, emphasizing small group learning and practice, and using standard patients and medical patient simulators; 30 participants were selected by their institutions.
Object: GP residents's has the obligation to take task with the public health prevetion. GP residents receive the public health training during their college study period and the residents training. The sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, highlight the importance and competence of the community prevention as the front line of epidemic prevention and control, pushing the general practitioner (GP) residents into the front team of epidemic prevention and control.

Objective: To analyze the current status of social support for middle-aged and older adults with multimorbidity and to explore the correlation between different dimensions of social support and multimorbidity and the related outcomes on the basis of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2015 survey data so as to reveal the complex social background of multimorbidity and the impact of social support on multimorbidity.
Methods: A total of 9168 valid samples, with an average age of 59.60 years, were included in the study.
Background: As one of the challenges of aging, older adults with disabilities are often overlooked in remote areas of many developing countries, including southwest China. Similar populations would undoubtedly benefit from a representative, high-quality survey of large samples, which would also enrich global disability data. This study aims to assess the prevalence of disability and associated factors among urban and rural older adults in a typical representative region.

Innovation is the lifeline of medical education reform in the new era. Based on the strategic goals of the Healthy China Initiative, we presented in this paper the practical experience of the Department of General Practice, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. We proposed the construction of an integrated model of general practitioner (GP) core competency training program consisting of 4 components, medical service, management, education, and academic ability.

In the early stages of the standardized GP training system, GP training supervisors play important roles. This study aims to explore how GP residents perceive their GP supervisors, factors that affect GP residents' satisfaction level, as well as to offer suggestions based on the implications of this study.

The participation of general practice (GP) residents in COVID-19 prevention and control tasks touched workload participation in public health and disease prevention and control and was also a rare, valuable training experience for the residents and research material for medical education. This experience contributed to the understanding of three key points: First, was the content of the COVID-19 prevention task suited to them, or did it overload them in the present? Second, their competence in the COVID-19 prevention task reflected whether the early medical school training was sufficient or not. Third, what can be drawn from this study to promote public health training in the future? This study aimed to explore these issues by conducting a real epidemic situated training (REST) program.
