Article Synopsis
  • This study focuses on the need for proper disinfection of dental impressions, which can get contaminated with saliva and blood, and examines the effectiveness of chlorogenic acid (CA) as a disinfectant.
  • The research assesses how different concentrations of CA affect the physical properties of alginate impressions, including their elasticity and setting time, as well as their antimicrobial effectiveness against various microorganisms.
  • Results showed that CA can effectively disinfect alginate impressions while maintaining their dimensional accuracy, suggesting it may be a more beneficial disinfectant option compared to traditional chemical disinfectants.
