This study aimed to develop and validate a non-invasive model to identify grey-zone patients requiring antiviral therapy (AVT).
Methods: We retrospectively collected data on 200 grey-zone patients not requiring AVT (according to assessment by non-invasive parameters from 2010 to 2023 in six hospitals) and randomised them into development (n=140) and validation (n=60) cohorts.
Benzalkonium chloride (BAC) has been widely used as disinfectant in food processing, whereas there is still largely unknown concerning its profound and/or reverse effects on the pathogens control. This study was aimed to assess the effects of BAC disinfection on the controlling difficulty of foodborne pathogens, by investigating the growth rate, micromorphology, biofilm characteristics, and antibiotic resistance. The results showed that two pathogenic strains, identified as Proteus vulgaris PV29 and Bacillus cereus BC30, were residually remained on the processing utensils after BAC disinfection.

Methods: We investigated the effects of iPSC-sEVs on the proliferation, migration, and osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) in vitro. The regenerative potential of iPSC-sEVs was evaluated in vivo, using a periodontal defect model.
Based on the reuse of industrial solid wastes such as calcium carbide slag, slag, and oil shale residue, this work utilizes oil shale residue and slag as precursor materials, calcium carbide slag and sodium carbonate as alkaline activator to prepare a geopolymer-based binder. Mix proportion experiments of the geopolymer-based binder with varying oil shale residue contents were designed. Chemical composition and microstructure of the alkaline-activated oil shale residue-slag geopolymer-based binder system were analyzed using X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF), X-ray Powder Diffractometer (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

However, the pharmacokinetic characteristics of continuous infusions and the correlation between the plasma concentration and the bispectral index (BIS) in elderly patients are still unknown.
Method: In this randomized, controlled study, thirty elderly patients (62-78 years old) undergoing elective gastrointestinal tumor resection were treated with propofol (N = 15) or ciprofol (N = 15) as sedatives during anesthesia.
Herpesviruses rely on host RNA polymerae II (RNA Pol II) for their mRNA transcription, yet the mechanisms of which has been poorly defined, while certain herpesviruses can enhance viral gene transcription by altering the RNA Pol II location, modulating its phosphorylation, or directly interacting with RNA Pol II. However, the influence of herpesviruses on RNA Pol II transcription extends beyond these direct effects.
