In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the thriving monoclonal antibody (mAb) industry due to the wide utilization of mAbs in clinical therapies. Robust and accurate bioanalytical methods are required to enable fast quantification of mAbs in biological matrices, especially in the context of pharmacokinetics (PKs)/pharmacodynamics (PDs) and therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) studies. The SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant evades most currently approved neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) and caused drastic decrease of plasma neutralizing activity elicited by vaccination or prior infection, urging the need for the development of pan-variant antivirals. The present study aims to investigate the contribution of two biologically important cations, Mg(2+) and Sr(2+), when co-substituted into the structure of hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, HA). The substituted samples were synthesized by a hydrothermal method that involved the addition of Mg(2+) and Sr(2+) containing precursors to partially replace Ca(2+) in the apatite structure.
