Introduction: The influence of anesthetic method on the immune function and oxidative stress in patients receiving laparoscopic herniorrhaphy remains largely unknown.
Aim: To assess the effects of different anesthetic methods on the immune function and oxidative stress in patients undergoing laparoscopic herniorrhaphy.
Material And Methods: A total of 280 eligible patients were randomly divided into two groups to receive total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA group) and inhalation anesthesia (IA group).
Few studies exist from China on associations between home environment and adult health. We studied associations between home environment factors (other than dampness and mould) and rhinitis, throat and dermal symptoms and headache and fatigue among young parents in six cities across China (N = 36,541). They were recruited as parents from day care centers selected randomly and answered a questionnaire on medical symptoms and the home environment.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new antimicrobial peptide l-RW containing double amphipathic binding sequences was designed, and its biological activities were investigated in the present study. L-RW showed antibacterial activity against several bacterial strains but low cytotoxicity to mammalian cells and low hemolytic activity to red blood cells, which makes it a potential and promising peptide for further development. Microscale thermophoresis (MST), a new technique, was applied to study the antimicrobial peptide-lipid interaction for the first time, which examined the binding affinities of this new antimicrobial peptide to various lipids, including different phospholipids, mixture lipids and bacterial lipid extracts.
