Article Synopsis
  • * The study administered MCH to mice before exposing them to IAV and assessed its effects on sleep quality, spatial learning, and memory, finding that IAV infection resulted in significant impairments in these areas, alongside neuroinflammation markers.
  • * MCH treatment improved sleep and cognitive functions in IAV-infected mice by reducing neuroinflammation and suppressing the activation of inflammatory pathways, particularly the JNK/ERK signaling pathway.

Near-infrared (NIR) light plays an increasingly important role in the field of photoinduced electron/energy transfer-reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization due to its unique properties. Yet, the NIR photocatalyst with good stability for PET-RAFT polymerization remains promising. Here, a strategy of NIR PET-RAFT polymerization of semifluorinated monomers using fluorophenyl bacteriochlorin as a photocatalyst with strong absorption at the NIR light region (710-780 nm) is reported.

Background: In the present study, a novel mutation in exon 46 at codon 2304 (G2304R) of the SYNE1 gene is described in a Chinese family (proband, mother, and sister) with Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy-like, which clinically manifests as muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, joint contracture, and without significant cardiac abnormalities.

Methods: Clinical examination and neuroimaging of the captured target region and high-throughput sequencing were performed in a family of four generations. Muscle changes were evaluated using magnetic resonance imaging and muscle biopsies.
