Article Synopsis
  • - Chinese bayberry, a nutrient-dense fruit popular in Asia, suffers from pest issues during ripening that impact production and economic viability.
  • - The study examined the effectiveness of insecticides and two types of protective nets (IPNs and IRPNs) on fruit quality, finding IPNs and IRPNs enhance fruit size and quality, with IRPNs showing the best results.
  • - Analysis revealed that IRPNs reduced harmful microbial communities, leading to decreased sugar consumption and disease, while also promoting beneficial metabolic functions essential for fruit development.
