Gastrointestinal (GI) motility is regulated in a large part by the cells of the enteric nervous system (ENS), suggesting that ENS dysfunctions either associate with, or drive GI dysmotility in patients. However, except for select diseases such as Hirschsprung's Disease or Achalasia that show a significant loss of all neurons or a subset of neurons, our understanding of human ENS histopathology is extremely limited. Recent endoscopic advances allow biopsying patient's full thickness gut tissues, which makes capturing ENS tissues simpler than biopsying other neuronal tissues, such as the brain.

Oxidative stress is believed to play critical pathophysiological roles in ischemic brain injury, and the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway is recognized as the most crucial endogenous antioxidant stress damage route. Some research have demonstrated that Nrf2 play critical roles in oxidative stress after ischemic stroke, but the underlying mechanism are not fully elucidated. This study reveals that Nrf2 is modified by SUMOylation and identifies Sentrin/SUMO-specific protease 6 (SENP6) as a negative regulator of Nrf2 SUMOylation.

Breast cancer (BC) poses a significant threat to women's health, with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) representing one of the most challenging and aggressive subtypes due to the lack of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression. Traditional TNBC treatments often encounter issues such as low drug efficiency, limited tumor enrichment, and substantial side effects. Therefore, it is crucial to explore novel diagnostic and treatment systems for TNBC.

LiAlTi(PO) (LATP) is one of the most attractive solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) for application in all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) due to its advantages of high ionic conductivity, air stability and low cost. However, the poor interfacial contact and slow Li-ion migration have greatly limited its practical application. Herein, a composite ion-conducting layer is designed at the Li/LATP interface, which a MoS film is constructed on LATP via chemical vapor deposition, followed by the introduction of a solid polymer (SP) liquid precursor to form a MoS@SP protective layer.

In our previous study, we concluded that sirtuin 5 (SIRT5) was highly expressed in microglia following ischaemic stroke, which induced excessive neuroinflammation and neuronal injury. Therefore, SIRT5-targeting interventions should reduce neuroinflammation and protect against ischaemic brain injury. Here, we showed that treatment with a specific SIRT5 inhibitor, MC3482, alleviated microglia-induced neuroinflammation and improved long-term neurological function in a mouse model of stroke.
