Objective: The study was conducted to investigate the appropriate substitution level of soybean meal (SBM) for determining its net energy (NE), and establish NE prediction equation of SBM based on the determined NE values for pregnant sows.
Methods: In Exp. 1, eighteen pregnant sows (Landrace×Yorkshire; parity, 2 to 3) with an initial body weight (BW) of 221.
Objectives: Neuroimaging investigations into chronic low back pain (CLBP) have detected functional abnormalities across a spectrum of brain regions, yet the findings have often been inconsistent. In this meta-analysis, we integrated the existing data, delineating a pattern of coherent results from the encompassed studies.
Methods: A systematic search of neuroimaging studies investigating the brain activity differences between CLBP and Healthy controls (HCs) was conducted in seven databases up to December 22, 2024.
Chitooligosaccharides (COSs) with a high degree of polymerisation (DP 5-10) have been reported to possess diverse bioactivities. Thus, the development of novel methods for the acquisition of high-DP COSs has become increasingly significant. In the study, a novel GH family 46 chitosanase gene (ThCsn46) was expressed and characterized.

We present a dynamic modeling approach for predicting the risk of high microcystin concentrations in Western Lake Erie. At the center of our model is an empirical model based on a basic mechanistic assumption about microcystin production in lakes (i.e.

However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the transcriptional regulation that define its differential functions remain largely unclear. In the present study, we determine three cryo-EM structures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) PhoP-dependent transcription activation complexes (PhoP-TACs) and build one preliminary cryo-EM structure model of Mtb PhoP-dependent transcription repression complex (PhoP-TRC).

Despite the importance for improper ferroelectricity, the microscopic mechanism of the helimagnetic order remains poorly understood. Here, the magneto-structural phases of NiI are investigated using resonant magnetic X-ray scattering (RXS) and X-ray diffraction.

Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) is recommended as an alternative therapy for managing upper limb spasticity after stroke; however, its potential effects and feasibility remain uncertain.
Objective: To investigate the potential effects and feasibility of TEAS on motor function in patients with upper limb spasticity after stroke.
Sociosexual preference is critical for reproduction and survival. However, neural mechanisms encoding social decisions on sex preference remain unclear. In this study, we show that both male and female mice exhibit female preference but shift to male preference when facing survival threats; their preference is mediated by the dimorphic changes in the excitability of ventral tegmental area dopaminergic (VTA) neurons.

Our previous investigations have demonstrated that chronic exposure to sodium arsenite (NaAsO) can induce thyroid damage and dysfunction in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Vitamin D (VD) is an indispensable fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in maintaining thyroid health.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOptimizing an emergency air pollution control strategy for haze events presents a significant challenge due to the extensive computational demands required to quantify the complex nonlinearity associated with controls on diverse air pollutants and regional sources. In this study, we developed a forecasting tool for emergency air pollution control strategies based on a predictive response surface model that quantifies PM responses to emission changes from different pollutants and regions. This tool is equipped to assess the effectiveness of emergency control measures corresponding to various air pollution alerts and to formulate an optimized control strategy aimed at specific PM targets.

Tic disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in children or adolescents, often attracting the attention of others due to involuntary, repetitive, and non-rhythmic tics, and drug therapy often causes negative emotions in children and their families due to its significant adverse reactions, poor compliance, and tendency of recurrence after drug withdrawal. In recent years, comprehensive behavioral intervention has shown great potential as a safe and effective treatment modality for tic disorders, with few adverse reactions. This article reviews the advances in the application of comprehensive behavioral intervention for tic disorder in China and abroad in the past 5 years, in order to provide a reference for clinical application.

Objective: We aim to investigate the mechanistic role and therapeutic potential of hepatic TM6SF2 in MASLD-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Design: Hepatocyte-specific knockout ( ) mice were fed with high-fat/high-cholesterol (HFHC) diet or diethylnitrosamine plus HFHC diet to induce MASLD-HCC.
Arsenic is a ubiquitous hazardous metalloid that poses a significant threat to human health. Although researchers have investigated the detrimental effects of arsenic on the thyroid, a comprehensive exploration of its toxicological impact and underlying molecular mechanisms remains to be conducted. Both this study and our previous reports demonstrated that chronic exposure to sodium arsenite (NaAsO) results in histological impairment and dysfunction of the thyroid glands in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats.

Although air pollutant emissions have sharply reduced in recent years, the occurrence of PM pollution events remains an intractable environmental problem in Beijing, and regional transport is the key influence factor. However, it has been difficult to identify regional transport characteristics and the main contributors to pollution events in recent years. In this study, the relative contribution of regional transport was quantified (61.

Utilizing the China Health and Nutrition Survey data from 1989 to 2014, we employ a life course framework to analyze how macro and interpersonal contexts influence mortality and physical health following job loss. Our analysis reveals that, despite short-term income disruptions and persistent income volatility, laid-off workers restored income and gained improved access to various types of health insurance over two decades.

Through comprehensive analysis and in-depth analysis of the genomic data of a large number of cancer patients, researchers can more accurately identify different cancer subtypes and reveal their molecular heterogeneity.
Methods: In this paper, we propose the SMMSN (Self-supervised Multi-fusion Strategy Network) model for the discovery of cancer subtypes.
The objective of image fusion is to integrate complementary features from source images to better cater to the needs of human and machine vision. However, existing image fusion algorithms predominantly focus on enhancing the visual appeal of the fused image for human perception, often neglecting their impact on subsequent high-level visual tasks, particularly the processing of semantic information. Moreover, these fusion methods that incorporate downstream tasks tend to be overly complex and computationally intensive, which is not conducive to practical applications.
