Background: Many bereaved individuals suffer from intense grief, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. To prevent these conditions from worsening, web-based grief interventions have emerged as a promising solution for providing accessible, flexible, and anonymous support to bereaved individuals. However, two previous meta-analyses focused only on the post-intervention effects of web-based grief interventions on grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression in bereavement individuals, relying on a small number of studies published before 2021.

Our previous studies have established a close relationship between gut microbiota and the anti-CRC effect of FOLFOX, though the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Diet has been confirmed as a key factor influencing gut microbiota, and high-salt diets, representative of western dietary habits, has been shown to affect gut microbiota, immune function, and the risk of developing CRC.

The development of GaN-based photonic integrated chips has attracted significant attention for visible light communication systems due to their direct bandgap and excellent optical properties across the visible spectrum. However, achieving compact and efficient light routing through bent waveguides remains challenging due to high insertion losses. This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of GaN bent waveguides optimization for visible light photonic integrated chips.

There is an urgent need to identify strategies to improve its therapeutic effectiveness. Our previous studies have suggested that gut microbiota-derived bile acids may be involved in the anticancer effect of FOLFOX in vitro, however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear.

Background: PRNs play a crucial role in enhancing pain management in Chinese hospitals. Their professional competence significantly impacts the quality of pain management in the hospital.
Background: Delirium frequently occurs in palliative care settings, yet its screening, identification, and management remain suboptimal in clinical practice. This review aims to elucidate the barriers preventing healthcare professionals from effectively screening, recognizing, and managing delirium in adult patients receiving specialist palliative care, with the goal of developing strategies to enhance clinical practice.
Methods: A mixed-methods systematic review was conducted (PROSPERO: CRD42024563666).
The high morbidity and mortality of colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major challenge in clinical practice. Although a series of alternative research models of CRC have been developed, appropriate orthotopic animal models that reproduce the specific clinical response as well as pathophysiological immune features of CRC are still lacking. In the current study, we constructed a CRC orthotopic xenograft model by implanting the tumor tubes at the colorectum of mice and monitored the model development using bioluminescence imaging.

However, mechanisms governing cell cycle checkpoints and specific survival pathways during the repair process remain unclear. Here, we report high-resolution scRNA-seq analyses of individually sorted mouse DN3 and DN4 thymocytes, which reveals a G2M cell cycle checkpoint, in addition to the known G1 checkpoint, during Tcrb and Tcra recombination.

In this context, the runoff changes affected by human activities are more severe. This study classifies climate scenarios based on carbon emission levels into "low-carbon" (SSP1-2.

However, owing to the different production methods used, the quality of commercial sauerkraut is often quite different, which is reflected mainly in the differences between starter culture (Group-L), additive addition (Group-P) and natural fermentation (Group-H) methods. The purpose of this study was to explore the differences among the three fermentation methods by measuring physical and chemical indices, microbial diversity indices, flavour indices and volatile substances.

Methods: Electronic medical records from a hospital in Shanghai, China, were used to summarize drug-related problems (DRPs) among inpatients taking warfarin in 2022. Additionally, adverse event data for warfarin from January 2004 to December 2023 were extracted from the U.
Dielectric barrier discharge cold plasma (DBD-CP) technology was used to modify casein acid-gel. The effect of DBD-CP on gel was evaluated in terms of gel quality, texture, antibacterial activity and structure. The results showed that the water holding capacity (WHC) and electrical conductivity of the gel were significantly increased after DBD-CP treatment, and WHC was increased from 66.

Hyperglycemia in the corpus cavernosum has been linked to the induction of both ferroptosis and oxidative stress, which are mediated by nuclear factor E2 related factor 2 (Nrf2). Hesperidin (Hes), a flavonoid compound, has been revealed to activate Nrf2 in certain diabetic complications, yet the efficacy of Hes on DMED and the specific mechanism remain unclear.

Methods: A pre-post prospective study was conducted in three different dental schools located in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, that offered geriatric dentistry courses in their curricula. A questionnaire specifically developed for this research and the "Ageism Scale for Dental Students" (ASDS) were applied before and after geriatric dentistry courses in all three dental schools.
Background: Periodontal ligament cells (PDLCs) are a major component of the periodontal ligament and have an important role in the regeneration of periodontal tissue and maintenance of homeostasis. High glucose can affect the activity and function of PDLCs in a variety of ways; therefore, it is particularly important to find ways to alleviate the effects of high glucose on PDLCs. Annexin A2 (ANXA2) is a calcium- and phospholipid-binding protein involved in a variety of cellular functions and processes, including cellular cytokinesis, cytophagy, migration, and proliferation.

After they received periodontal initial therapy or antimicrobial drug treatment, was there any improvement in endothelial function during short- and long-term followups?
Method: Relevant randomized controlled trials and clinical trials up to 30th June 2024 were identified and retrieved from electronic databases including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and CNKI databases, with periodontitis therapy, periodontal disease and endothelial function as the keywords. The weighted (WMD) or standardized mean difference (SMD) was calculated using a fixed- or random-effect model and assessed heterogeneous results.
Acute liver failure (ALF) is characterized by the rapidly progressive deterioration of hepatic function, which, without effective medical intervention, results in high mortality and morbidity. Here, using proteomic and transcriptomic analyses in murine ALF models, we found that the expression of multiple splicing factors was downregulated in ALF. Notably, we found that KH-type splicing regulatory protein (KHSRP) has a protective effect in ALF.

The multi-omics data is providing a new chance to explore collaborative biomarkers and corresponding diagnostic models of childhood asthma. To capture the nonlinear association of multi-omics data and improve interpretability of diagnostic model, we proposed a novel deep association model (DAM) and corresponding efficient analysis framework.

In this context, application of continuous survival analysis methods with a single risk suffers from biased estimation. Therefore, we propose the multivariate Bernoulli detector for competing risks with discrete times involving a multivariate change point model on the cause-specific baseline hazards.
