Hong Kong oyster (Crassostrea hongkongensis) is one of the main species of economic shellfish cultivated in the coastal areas of southern China. The cultivation of this shellfish may be adversely impacted by Vibrio parahaemolyticus, a harmful pathogenic bacterium for many mariculture species, as it usually exists on the surface of Hong Kong oysters. Although previous studies have discovered that oysters rely on non-specific immune system to fight pathogen invasion, the genes corresponding to the complex immune system against Vibrio is still not fully elucidated.

The aim of this meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy and safety of LIA with intrathecal morphine and epidural analgesia after THA and TKA.
Methods: A systematic article search was performed from PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases, up to February 21, 2019.
Background: The present meta-analysis was conducted to explore and identify the risk factors for surgical site infection (SSI) after spinal surgery based on qualified studies and to gain insight into the management of SSI among patients undergoing spinal surgery.
Methods: We searched the following electronic databases, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and the Embase database, updated to May 2018, to identify eligible studies according to the index words with associated publications. The odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were used to analyze the main outcomes.
As fundamental immunologic mechanism, the innate immunity system is more important than the specific immunity system in teleost fishes during pathogens infection. Antimicrobial peptides are integral parts of the innate immune system, and play significant roles against pathogens infection. NK-lysin, the compounds of the natural killer cells and cytotoxic T cells, are potent and effective antimicrobial peptides widely distributed in animals.
