Objective: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects children's quality of life and learning. The purpose of this research was to systematically evaluate the efficacy of probiotic adjuvant therapy for IBS in children.

Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE and Clinical Trials databases were electronically searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published prior to January 2021 exploring the use of probiotic adjuvant therapy for IBS in children.

Background: The goals of improving quality of life and increasing longevity are receiving growing amounts of attention. Body weight and lipid metabolism are closely related to various complications of diabetes. The aim of this study was to rank SGLT inhibitors according to their efficacy with regard to weight and evaluate the effect of SGLT inhibitors on lipid metabolism at 24 weeks of treatment.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluates the effects of five SGLT inhibitors (dapagliflozin, canagliflozin, empagliflozin, ertugliflozin, and sotagliflozin) on HbA1c levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
  • Researchers conducted a meta-analysis using data from multiple medical databases, analyzing 27 randomized controlled trials to assess the impact of these medications.
  • Results showed a significant reduction in HbA1c levels among patients using SGLT inhibitors, but differences in efficacy were noted across various population subgroups, indicating a need for further studies in diverse groups.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of sotagliflozin (SOTA) as an add-on therapy for type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) through a systematic review of randomized controlled trials.
  • A meta-analysis of 7 trials showed that SOTA led to lower hemoglobin A1c levels, reduced daily insulin use, faster weight loss, better blood glucose control, and higher rates of well-controlled glucose levels compared to a placebo.
  • However, the study also noted an increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis and genital mycotic infections in the SOTA group compared to the placebo, with no significant difference in severe hypoglycemic events.

Background: During the COVID-19 period, there was a huge gap in the understanding of masks between east and west. At the same time, the mechanism of the mask and the effect after use, also appeared differences. The Objective of this Meta-analysis is to systematically evaluate the efficacy of masks for influenza in the community.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the efficacy of Sotagliflozin therapy for diabetes over 52 weeks, looking at effects from week 24 to week 52 and comparing them to understand any loss of efficacy.
  • Researchers will conduct a comprehensive search of multiple databases for randomized controlled trials and assess their quality, aiming for an unbiased evaluation of the therapy's long-term effectiveness.
  • The study seeks to provide stronger evidence for clinicians on Sotagliflozin's performance over time, acknowledging challenges like uneven quality of available research data that may influence the findings.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of tenofovir and entecavir in nucleos(t)ide analogue-naive chronic hepatitis B.

Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Clinical Trials and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) databases were electronically searched to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding the comparison between tenofovir and entecavir in nucleos(t)ide analogue-naive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) since the date of database inception to July 2019. Two researchers independently screened and evaluated the obtained studies and extracted the outcome indexes.

Background: Chronic hepatitis b (CHB) is a serious problem worldwide. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) and entecavir (ETV) both are first-line drugs for CHB, but there is debate about which is more appropriate in nucleos(t)ide analogue-naive CHB.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of tenofovir and ETV in nucleos(t)ide analogue-naive CHB.

Article Synopsis
  • Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) typically requires insulin treatment, but sotagliflozin (SOTA) might become the first oral medication approved for T1DM in the US, so its effectiveness needs evaluation.
  • The research will involve a thorough search of various medical databases for randomized controlled trials on SOTA, with strict quality checks and meta-analysis of the data to assess its efficacy and safety.
  • The findings aim to give clinicians stronger evidence on the use of SOTA as a therapy for T1DM patients, enhancing treatment options available in clinical settings.

Objective: To investigate the characteristics of the confined space accident and its medical rescue strategy.

Methods: Thirty-six patients with emergency rescue in the five confined space accident during June 2009 to July 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.

Results: Twenty-nine people were caught in four confined space accidents caused by building collapse and 7 people were caught in one confined space accident caused by a tower of babel blast furnace damage which caused severe gas and hydrogen sulfide poisoning.
