Multiple porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) subtypes coinfect numerous pig farms in China, and commercial PRRSV vaccines offer limited cross-protection against heterologous strains. Our previous research confirmed that a PRRSV lineage 1 branch attenuated live vaccine (SD-R) provides cross-protection against HP-PRRSV, NADC30-like PRRSV and NADC34-like PRRSV. HP-PRRSV has undergone significant genetic variation following nearly two decades of evolution and has transformed into a subtype referred to as HP-like PRRSV, which also exhibits high pathogenicity.

The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a crucial role in the progression and treatment resistance of melanoma. Modulating the TME is thus a key strategy for enhancing therapeutic outcomes. Previousstudies have identified clonidine (CLD), an α2-adrenergic receptor agonist, as a promising agent that enhances T lymphocyte infiltration and reduces myeloid-derived suppressor cells within the TME, thereby promoting antitumor immune responses.

Cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As) often coexist in water and agricultural soils around mining areas, and it is difficult to remove them at the same time due to their opposite chemical behaviors. Therefore, this study employed a co-precipitation-pyrolysis method to synthesize silica-based magnetic biochar (SMB) materials for the remediation of water contaminated with both Cd and As. The optimization of preparation conditions involved introducing three different types of silicates (NaSiO, CaSiO,and SiO) into the biomass-magnetite mixture, followed by pyrolysis at various temperatures (300℃, 500℃, and 700℃), and the optimal preparation conditions were determined based on the composite batch experiments.

Background: Epidemiologic researches show that short sleep duration may affect feeding behaviors resulting in higher energy intake and increased risk of obesity, but the further mechanisms that can interpret the causality remain unclear. The circadian rhythm is fine-tuned by the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) as the master clock, which is essential for driving rhythms in food intake and energy metabolism through neuronal projections to the arcuate nucleus (ARC) and paraventricular nucleus (PVN).

Results: We showed that chronic SD-induced aberrant expressions of AgRP/NPY and POMC attributed to compromised JAK/STAT3 signals and reduced energy expenditure in the mice, which can be rescued with AAV-genetic overexpression of BMAL1 into SCN.

Railway traction motor bearings (RTMB) are critical components in high-speed trains (HST) that are particularly susceptible to failure due to the high stress and rotational frequency they experience. To address the challenge of high false-positive rates in existing monitoring systems, this paper introduces a novel sensorless monitoring scheme that leverages stator current to detect fault-related characteristics, eliminating the need for additional sensors. This approach employs a hybrid signal preprocessing algorithm that integrates adaptive notch filtering (ANF) with envelope spectrum analysis (ESA) to effectively sparse the stator current and extract relevant fault features.
