Scene appearance changes drastically throughout the day. Existing semantic segmentation methods mainly focus on well-lit daytime scenarios and are not well designed to cope with such great appearance changes. Naively using domain adaption does not solve this problem because it usually learns a fixed mapping between the source and target domain and thus have limited generalization capability on all-day scenarios (i.

Objectives: The current study aims to investigate the role of HSP90, complement C3 and C5a, and nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) in PioC-induced cardioprotection.
Background/aims: The activation of the complement system and subsequent inflammatory responses are important features of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Exosomes are nanoscale extracellular vesicles that play a significant role in remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) cardioprotection. The present study aimed to test whether RIPC-induced plasma exosomes (RIPC-Exo) exert protective effects on myocardial I/R injury by inhibiting complement activation and inflammation and whether exosomal heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) mediates these effects.

However, the mediating cardioprotective mechanisms remain unclear. The present study explores the role and interaction of heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), Akt, C5a, and NF-κB in MP-induced cardioprotection.

Methods: Rat hearts underwent a 30 min occlusion of the anterior descending coronary artery, after which reperfusion was performed for 2 h.
Aerial scene recognition is challenging due to the complicated object distribution and spatial arrangement in a large-scale aerial image. Recent studies attempt to explore the local semantic representation capability of deep learning models, but how to exactly perceive the key local regions remains to be handled. In this paper, we present a local semantic enhanced ConvNet (LSE-Net) for aerial scene recognition, which mimics the human visual perception of key local regions in aerial scenes, in the hope of building a discriminative local semantic representation.

However, when applied to scene classification, most of the existing convolution neural networks (ConvNets) tend to depict global semantics of images, and the loss of low- and mid-level features can hardly be avoided, especially when the model goes deeper. To tackle these challenges, in this paper, we propose a multiple-instance densely-connected ConvNet (MIDC-Net) for aerial scene classification.

Objective: We explored the relationship between pediatric infective endocarditis and stroke.
Patients And Methods: All children encountered with infective endocarditis from January 2002 to December 2015 were included as our sample, and their medical records were comprehensively reviewed.
Results: Sixty children with infective endocarditis were identified, including 30 boys and 30 girls aged eight months to 18 years (mean ± SD: 10.
Objective: To verify the association between the caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 8 (CARD8) single nucleotide polymorphism rs2043211 in the CARD8 gene and cardiovascular diseases.
Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted for related literature in the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Wanfang Data, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. At last, Six eligible case-control studies were included in this meta-analysis.
Objective: To investigate the perfusion parameters of computed tomography (CT) in hypoxicischemic encephalopathy (HIE) after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG), and its potential in predicting the occurrence and prognosis of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
Methods: We selected 830 patients. The patients were grouped into: HIE and no HIE.
Objectives: The use of antiplatelet therapy after intracerebral hemorrhage remains controversial, while the use of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is required after cardiac stenting. In this study, we examine the risk of bleeding and ischemic events for PCI patients with a history of hypertensive hemorrhage on DAPT.
Methods: A total of 128 cases and 153 controls were selected from Chinese patients with cardiac stenting on dual anti-platelet therapy for a single-center retrospective case-control study.

Aims: Measurement of the biomarker growth-differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) in patients with heart failure may help in risk stratification. We assessed the relationship between GDF-15 and mortality in patients with heart failure by conducting a meta-analysis.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, ISI Web of Science, SCOPUS, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for studies that reported data on the baseline GDF-15 levels and all-cause or cardiovascular mortality.
Objective: To investigate the relationship between an abnormal CT perfusion scan and postoperative cognitive dysfunction, as measured by changes in MoCA and MMSE scores, after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG).
Methods: Eight hundred and thirteen patients were selected who underwent OPCABG between August 2010 and September 2013. Cognitive function was assessed before operation and at seven days post-op.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of microRNA (miR)-128 inhibition on the targeted activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG) and on cardiomyocyte apoptosis induced by myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. In vitro, the expression of PPARG was detected by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting in neonatal rat ventricular myocytes (NRVMs) and HEK293 cells transfected with the mimics or inhibitors of miR‑128 or control RNA. Luciferase reporter assays were used to identify whether PPARG is a direct target of miR‑128.

Novel, highly ordered layered graphene oxide (GO) membranes with larger interlayer spacing were prepared by induced directional flow and were used as adsorbents for the removal of Cu(2+), Cd(2+) and Ni(2+) from aqueous solutions. The effects of pH, ionic strength, contact time, metal ion concentration and cycle time on Cu(2+), Cd(2+) and Ni(2+) sorption were investigated. The results indicated that the adsorption of Cu(2+), Cd(2+) and Ni(2+) onto GO membranes was greatly influenced by the pH and weakly affected by the ionic strength.

Objective: To investigate the correlation between the expression of adhesion molecule CD146 and the vulnerability of carotid atherosclerotic plaque.
Methods: The plaque samples were collected from 40 patients who underwent the carotid endarterectomy and were divided into the stable plaque group and the instable plaque group by ultrasound imaging. Five carotid artery samples were taken from the healthy donors as the control.
Aims: Intraplaque neovascularization and foam cell infiltration contribute to the development of unstable plaque, leading to thromboembolism and stroke. Cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) have been reported to be involved in the progression of atherosclerosis and plaque vulnerability. The aim of this study was to assess the association of adhesion molecule CD146 with carotid plaque instability.
