Lipomas in the submandibular region are very uncommon. Large submandibular neck mass (greater than 10 cm) with a rapid growth rate, may raise concern about possible malignancy of salivary glands. Failure to distinguish salivary gland tumour and liposarcoma from a lipoma may represent a medico-legal pitfall.

In this regard, MnO-decorated nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets (MnO/NC) are fabricated by a two-step strategy involving a hydrothermal method and a solid-state method. In the resultant structures, very fine MnO nanoparticles with an average size of about 5 nm are strongly attached to nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets.
