Healthy Plant-Based Diet, Genetic Predisposition, and the Risk of Incident Venous Thromboembolism.

Background: Plant-based dietary patterns are becoming increasingly popular due to environmental and health impacts, yet there are few studies exploring the relationship between plant-based dietary patterns and venous thromboembolism (VTE) in different genetic backgrounds.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate how plant-based dietary pattern and genetic susceptibility independently or jointly affect VTE and its subtypes of pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis.

Methods: A total of 183,510 participants who were White British ethnicity background and free of VTE at baseline in the UK Biobank were recruited, in consideration that the selection of genetic variants for VTE was based on results of White European individuals.

MVCL-DTI: Predicting Drug-Target Interactions Using a Multiview Contrastive Learning Model on a Heterogeneous Graph.

Accurate prediction of drug-target interactions (DTIs) is pivotal for accelerating the processes of drug discovery and drug repurposing. MVCL-DTI, a novel model leveraging heterogeneous graphs for predicting DTIs, tackles the challenge of synthesizing information from varied biological subnetworks. It integrates neighbor view, meta-path view, and diffusion view to capture semantic features and employs an attention-based contrastive learning approach, along with a multiview attention-weighted fusion module, to effectively integrate and adaptively weight the information from the different views.

Validation Status of Electronic Sphygmomanometers in China: A National Survey.

Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.

Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Exploring the determinants to accept dementia screening among patients at high risk of dementia based on the theory of planned behavior: A cross-sectional study.

Background: Dementia represents a major public health challenge. Despite numerous initiatives promoting screening for early cognitive impairment to help prevent or delay its onset, participation remains limited. Moreover, there is limited evidence regarding screening intentions and predictors among populations at high risk of dementia.

Empowering Privacy Through Peer-Supervised Self-Sovereign Identity: Integrating Zero-Knowledge Proofs, Blockchain Oversight, and Peer Review Mechanism.

Frequent user data breaches and misuse incidents highlight the flaws in current identity management systems. This study proposes a blockchain-based, peer-supervised self-sovereign identity (SSI) generation and privacy protection technology. Our approach creates unique digital identities on the blockchain, enabling secure cross-domain recognition and data sharing and satisfying the essential users' requirements for SSI.
