Article Synopsis
  • - Trypsin was successfully immobilized on a new nanocomposite made from magnetic multiwalled carbon nanotubes and polydopamine, enhancing the enzyme's stability and resistance to various solvents and denaturants.
  • - Characterization of the nanocomposite and the bound trypsin was carried out using advanced biophysical techniques, demonstrating that the immobilized trypsin had improved enzymatic activity, with an effectiveness factor of 2.65.
  • - The antimicrobial activity of peptide hydrolysates produced using the NC-bound trypsin was significantly greater than those made with native trypsin, suggesting potential applications in pharmaceuticals and therapeutics through the enhanced biopeptides generated.

Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) disease management is highly dependent on the immune status of the infected individual. An increase in the incidence of depression has been observed during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Autoantibodies against in vitro reactive oxygen species (ROS) modified BSA and Lys as well as antibodies against receptor binding domain subunit S1 (S1-RBD) (S1-RBD-Abs) of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) were estimated using direct binding and competition ELISA.

Purpose: Diabetes mellitus and periodontitis are inflammatory diseases, the severity of inflammation results in the progression and persistence of both the disorders and affects bones. Diabetic complications aggravate in diabetic subjects having periodontitis; similarly, diabetic patients are more prone to developing gingivitis and periodontitis. Periodontal and diabetic inflammation disturbs bone homeostasis, which possibly involves both innate and adaptive immune responses.
