Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in China and globally, particularly among older adults. This study aimed to examine secular trends in TB mortality among older adults in China and the net effects of age, period, and cohort.

Methods: Data from the National Disease Surveillance Points (DSPs) system were analyzed using Joinpoint regression to determine annual changes in TB mortality among individuals aged 60 years and older from 2004 to 2021.

During the past decade, enlightened by the better understanding of the mechanism of Ostwald ripening (OR), programmable control of OR process have gained popularity in the fields from nanocrystals to bulk materials in virtue of its important on regulating the structural and chem-physical properties. In this perspective, we systematically summarize the up-to date advanced applications of OR process involved in nanomaterials and bulk material properties. The potential challenges and perspectives for further research are highlighted.

Necroptosis is a finely regulated programmed cell death process involving complex molecular mechanisms and signal transduction networks. Among them, receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), receptor-interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) and mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein are the key molecules regulating this process. In recent years, gasotransmitters such as nitric oxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide have been suggested to play a regulatory role in necroptosis.

Background: KBG syndrome (KBGS, OMIM: 148050) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by macrodontia, short stature, skeletal abnormalities, and neurological manifestations. The objective of this study is to investigate a case of KBG syndrome caused by a novel frameshift mutation in ANKRD11.

Methods And Results: We present the case of an 18-year-old Chinese male exhibiting characteristic features including a triangular face, micrognathia, hypertelorism, macrodontia, bushy eyebrows, prominent ears, short stature, low hairline, delayed cognitive development, and scoliosis.
